I’ve been assured many times on this website that democrats are the party of the corrupt billionaires and Trump is a warrior of the working class. I’m pretty sure his tax cuts hurt rich people and really helped poor people. Right?

It's perception as much as anything else. Look at how you talk about "them". Look at you, othering just like the repubs are doing.

The correct take here is that they both have billionaire backing and are full of elites and that needs to be recognized. It's also obvious, that one is less insane and in a two-party system we have to choose one.

At least we have hope to push the less insane side in the right direction over time (slowly, like at a snails pace).

That change has to start with individuals really wherever we can. We have to be willing to remind ourselves that there are no absolutes, especially in politics, keep trying to help each other find the gaps and bridge them, and remind ourselves and each other that the "other" has a family and problems and need help sometimes too. And that they have a point of view worthy of understanding and even respect, even if we don't agree with them.

"Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants."
