At Philadelphia's workout today, Donatas Motiejunas measured in at 7-0 w/o shoes and 245 lbs (a great improvement from 220).

Potentially we are looking at a 7-1 Motiejunas who bulked up 25 lbs, the Jazz have liked this guy since they were projected to have the #6 pick and still today they like him at #12. One can only hope, but I hope the Jazz come out of the draft with a combo of Knight/Motiejunas.

I don't know much about him but his size is very interesting!! Could he come in from day 1 and contribute? Is he a low post threat? Does he have 3 point ranges? Just don't know much about him

I agree that 245 vs 220 lbs is a huge improvement. Worth considering at #12.

My love for Monti is well posted. He passes the eyeball test while watcing: his play is fluid and instinctual, he has 3-pt range, can put the ball on the floor, and is a creative passer off the dribble--and he is 7-1 and the recent videos show he has really worked on his body.

At 7-1 I don't know if he is a center, a pf or sf--but he is a player. I've read that he has a huge ego, is lazy and conceited--so he should fit right in the NBA.

My guess is that he somehow ends up on Dallas, Houston, or Spurs where he kills us for years to come.

Yeah, I was going to say something after watching that video earlier. He doesn't have the same body he had when he was playing in the Hoop's Summit a few years back. Now the question is whether he can stretch that to the 260 range or not. I think that would be about ideal for a player like him.

Link?

Depending on the first pick we make, I wouldn't mind him at 12. Looking much bigger and since he's a legit 7'0" that size is nothing to scoff at.

I want him at 12 if we get Knight at 3. This dude has potential like crazy and like every Kanter supporter on this board says "If you are going to take a risk, take a big risk".

And the work he has put in to build his body tells me he has gotten more serious about the game, which was a big knock against him earlier.

Depends. Did his body fat % go up or down. 25 more pounds of blubber does not equal better prepared for the NBA.

Kind of wonder though with us saving all of our last workouts for a wing player should tell us anything or not? But definitely like him. He is only the inconsistent side though. The boxscores i checked out for his last games this year were all over the place.

I think his touch off the glass is going to make his hook shots on the baseline practically automatic. I think his passing in the high post and his ability to hit 20-ft. jumpers make him ideal playing off of Favors or Jefferson. I think he has the ability to take a couple of dribbles when he has the ball out on the floor. He's just going to be tough to guard. He moves very well, and although he's not an above-the-rim type, if he works hard, he can be okay on defense and get his share of boards.

The NBA today is dominated by quick, skilled, long players. I think this guy fits that description. I think he's a better version of Okur, and I don't really think there's much Greg Monroe can do that Montiejunas cannot do.

He is the second-coming of Dirk with more of a post came. If he is there at #12, you take him, whether you have already taken Kanter or not.

So he's a lot like Fes?

I guess the similarities are there.

They're both white, 7 feet, and from the same planet.

But the differences are great.

One actually knows what a basketball is, one has actually worked out, one possesses athleticism, one actually knows what a basketball is, one has actually proven themselves internationally, one actually has potential...
