I hadn't thought of that, but I think you're right. He's obviously much better than Kobe was as a rookie. He's even better than Wade was (and is a year younger than rookie Wade).

Oh My Goodness...several more highlights tonight.
Most will focus on the dunks, but my favorites were:
1. The layup near the end of the game when he went around 3 players, including Lebron.
2. The love he gave to Thabo for the verbal altercation with Lebron.
3. The block against James. Well, he did foul him, but nevermind. Mitchell is clearly not star-struck.

I know the apprehension people have with using bold comparisons to hall of famers, but Donovan Mitchell absolutely reminds me of Wade when he's driving...
It's getting ridiculous... the spin moves, the swim moves the jumpstops into layup... it's like somebody gave him 10 minutes highlight video of young Wade and told him - by end of the year I want you to do all of those in a game.
Wade used to have more explosive finishes off one foot, but a lot of the other stuff is extremely similar between them.

Austin Carr is joke - I know he's Mr. Cavalier and was there through many lean years but he is without a doubt the worst color commentator in the NBA. He fumbles through his words and gives no insight on the game other than when Cleveland does something positive.
He's worse than that drunk in Boston and that's saying a lot.
