Donovan Mitchell Struggles

I was and do but it appears that the front office and Quin may not have shot straight with Stock, Mark Few and NWG.
How not? Based on what? I had to google Mark Few. What do we owe him? What’s our obligation to the college coach of a guy we drafted in the second round four years ago? Did he pay a dowry?

I don't know if it's good policy to make the Coach of the No. 1 college team in the country and an NBA Hall of Famer upset with you. Quin has had a problem with the truth particularly when he was coaching at Missouri. Why can't he and DL just be straight with people? It's not that hard.

Not buying it. They may not like what happened with NWG but I doubt anyone pulled a fast one. We hung on to him longer than made sense.

Shooting straight with what, though? This is the NBA. People are waived all the time. What did anyone not shoot straight about by waiving NWG? What are the consequences of not checking in with a college coach after drafting a dude with the 55th pick, letting him play overseas, and deciding to waive him four years later? Where’s the precedent on this?

There’s a much stronger (if even still irrelevant) argument on waiving your star player’s best friend, who was supposed to be NWG’s ceiling.

Other than both were asked about drafting him initially. Players get cut all the time, I get that. It appears something was said and NWG more than lived up to his end of the deal. I find it odd that a guy gets waived just after lighting it up and being named KSL player of the game.

Bumping this thread. It’s getting absurd. Right now we don’t need superstar Mitchell. We don’t need All Star Mitchell. We need whatever version of Mitchell is not a gigantic liability on both ends.

He’s got to be one of the most damaging players in the league so far. His combination of cannibalizing the offense while being a liability on defense is tough to match.

Starting to think the Monstars stole his talent for the upcoming Space Jam 2 movie.

They went on a run every time he/Bogey came in. His defense is horrendous, he turns the ball over, he stops the ball and the offense. He will figure it out but he has been down right dreadful. Offense was pumping, Jazz up 18, he came in was horrible defensively and threw the ball away. Again he'll figure it out......but my goodness man.

I have no doubt he is a better player than this...but this is year 4. My concerns is his development, or lack thereof. I didn't expect him to be at the level he was last playoffs, but I thought he was primed for a leap in his career. I'm confident that he isn't the trash player he's been...but sadly I'm pretty confident we aren't going to see the big improvement either.
