What's new

Donovan Mitchell's Players Tribune

Gobert and Mitchell bromance confirmed again. I'm praying DL has a bit more draft magic left or sufficient blackmail material to do one more central piece to this team.

Lol.

Honestly, I don't know if we need another central piece. Mitchell might be that good. Think about it, Houston was going toe to toe with Golden State last night with Harden and a bunch of specialists or hustle guys. If they didn't miss 27 straight 3's, they might have won. LeBron beat a better team only armed with role players. If Mitchell can continue to evolve, we just need to make sure we surround him with a number of dynamic guys who support him. Instead of one star, maybe we need 3 PJ Tucker types and Gobert protecting the middle.

Favors gone. Exum staying confirmed.

I can’t wait for the usual suspects to find a way to say that this article means he hates Utah and is destined to play elsewhere.

It was literally just one person who said that.

But he is destined to play elsewhere. Like Boston. In game six. When we win the championship.

Donovan Mitchell.........he may end up a God here for sure.

I was prepared to be a little disappointed... all those years reading cheesy Gordon articles ya know...

Donovan is going to do it... I believe him. Dude is the realest and gets what an opportunity it is... it’s amazing to have this kind of a talent and get the love right back.

He is a pull-up 3 away putting up an efficient 30 a night. He gets that and it gets ugly... his attitude is infectious and will help everyone we bring in... he will actually recruit and go get us some talent.

The whole thing is quotable. If the Jazz don't give this guy as much money as they possibly can they are stupid and deserve to never have a trophy. But here was where the tears were flowing man, and I say that completely unashamed.

The way this is shaping up we have a true legend in the making, even if it is just a Utah Jazz legend, and that is something beyond special. I feel that this guy of all guys could lead us to the promised land.

Moses Mitchell.

I think Quin is the third of our big three. Not saying that we shouldn’t look to find someone, but I think Quin is a pretty perfect balance of what the team needs as a coach. Beyond the X’s and O’s, he’s a disciplined coach but doesn’t sway too far from being unable to connect with in a way that a Sloan or Popovich might. On the other hand, players connect with him, as you can see from locker room videos such as when he and Donovan huddled around Donovan’s phone to watch March Madness. But he’s not so far buddy-buddy that it’s a Tyronne Lue situation. I’ve tried to think back to any coach that’s been the perfect balance of leadership and authority while being able to maintain genuine connection on a personal level, but can’t really think of any.
