Harkless is PG size, Juzang is legitimately wing size. I don't see them necessarily in direct competition (though there's occasional overlap in Hardy's lineups this year).
Hadn't thought of it this way, since my view was that Sexton was always expendable.
But I kind of like this thought. If ,given who we have and who we might be going forward with, we can replace a high-scoring poor defender with a lower-scoring, but hopefully efficient strong defender, it's probably a good thing.
A lot of folks here wish we had taken Devin Carter in the draft. Maybe Harkless provides some similar stuff?
I think Svi has played well enough to warrant a trade from another team. Probably just a second, but he’s on a great deal and is good enough to be in a rotation. Easy to move at his number. I say thank Svi for his service by trading him to a winning team, prioritize Harkless more, then get another G-League guy in there and try to recycle that roster spot until we find someone.
Size is kind of irrelevant when Harkless can guard wings better and rebound better than Juzang can

Given the Jazz got Svi on the most team friendly deal imaginable, that signals no one wanted him and I doubt 17 games of being OK on the 2nd worst team in the NBA changes that.
Probably fair, though I think his stock has improved. It wasn’t high to begin with and playing OK in 17 games does improve that. I would trade him simply for the roster spot and maybe you get a second or it gives a little sweetener in Sexton/Collins trade.

That's true. However, in reality both of them primarily play SG for the Jazz because they simply have better options/prospects at both 1 and 3.
To be honest, Harkless is really not that good but the Jazz are so horrible on defense that it makes him standing out way more than he deserves. When we try to get excited about Svi, Juzang or Harkless it means that our rebuild really hasnt been good so far. Agbaji is a much, much better player than all of them and Cody should have been better in his first year.
I could (maybe -- depending on how Kings feel about raising their salaries) see Svi getting interest as a Huerter replacement in any Collins for Huerter/Lyles swap.

Back to back 40 point games for Harkless
Obviously we can't see what happens in practice....but just based on what we've seen in the NBA and G-League, I was more hopeful in Harkless becoming a shooter than Springer. He's had a few games with 10+ 3FGA which gives me more confidence in him than someone like Springer who is low volume even in the G-League.
