Eurobasket 2011: Turkey - Portugal match is starting now. :) Live match

I'm going to preface this by saying it is Portugal but I was very impressed with Kanter yet again. Forget the points, forget the rebounds he improved in other areas. I read he looked funny setting screens the first two games. Not today. I read he doesn't play help defense. Not today. I read he can't pass out of double teams. Not today. Kanter is improving game by game and in ways that don't always appear in the box score. For example, I saw several plays where a Turkey's guard beat his man and Kanter's man refused to leave Kanter and simply gave up the lay-up. That doesn't appear in the box score, but its huge. Okay, okay its Portugal, but Kanter simply looks dominate on the court.

I mostly want to see Kanter become a better passer, specifically out of the double team. If he can do that, and improve his athleticism/hops a little over the first couple years of his career, wow, the kid could be a beast.

I feel confident that he will become a good passer. Remain cautiousy (very) optimistic he can make a real impact in getting off the ground faster/higher.
 
Kanter scores 14 and 2 for Portugal,second half Portugal paid alot more attention to Kanter and he found it harder to score,the announcer said once Kanter wasnt getting back on D ,but I didnt agree ,Kanter just thought Turkey was going to get the ball and he was going to be downcourt to score but Turkey did a bad job retaining possession and Kanter then came down on D.
 
he got an easy block late in the game but its ok. i hope he will get better in the tougher games. Portugal is the garbage team in this group, but britain and poland are dangerous teams. Turkey doesnt have the guarantee to advance

I am not saying that Kanter is better than Noah right now and I know that their roles are slightly different for their teams but Kanters performance should be commended.

i think he had two blocked shots and a rebound more... i might be wrong...
 
i want to see kanter take more jumpshots... he is a great shooter and i like his midrange game... he made some nice jumpers in the friendly games...
 
Nice stats by Kanter and win for Turkey but we will get true picture only after games vs Lithuania and Spain.
