The Lauri hate is thick in here. Next thing I know people are going to be saying AK was better than him.
AK would have been amazing in the modern era.The Lauri hate is thick in here. Next thing I know people are going to be saying AK was better than him.
One thing you didn’t mention is that Lauri has had two seasons better than G-time’s best. Best peak goes to Lauri. And while it remains to be seen how his career will go, Hayward essentially had 4 good seasons in his career. That shouldn’t be difficult for Lauri to top.I didn't overlook any of that.
I take Lauri
That is crazyPoland-Finland 88-97, 3rd prep game
Lauri 24min, 42p, 10/17, 2p 7/10, 3p 3/7, FT 19/20, 12 rebounds, 1st, 3 blocks, +20
He started like 0/5 shooting and little better after that.
Looks like Lauri is heating up over in Europe. Those stats again in just 24 minutes. And 19/20 on free throws. Impressive. Learning to get to the free-throw line was a big part of Shai’s (and many others’) rise to the top. It’s about time Lauri learns those tricks.Poland-Finland 88-97, 3rd prep game

I welcome this reality check as a Lauri fan no 1 on this forum. We will see a more clear picture of the state of 2025-26 Lauri, when the actual EuroBasket tournament starts. He'll face better competition. The biggest test will of course be Germany in the group stage. Lithuania is also pretty dangerous and tough team lately, even though they don't have as many NBA players these days they used to have on their roster.A professional player scores way above his averages playing against the competition two tiers down. Stop the presses!
I bet he can also break Wilt's scoring record playing against a high school team from Iowa.
