Last EuroBasket Lauri played in he tore it up. It was a springboard for his career to spike and it cost us a lot of draft spots.

Hopefully he has a fantastic EuroBasket and shows his quality again. Hopefully we get luckier this time with the draft.

One thing you didn’t mention is that Lauri has had two seasons better than G-time’s best. Best peak goes to Lauri. And while it remains to be seen how his career will go, Hayward essentially had 4 good seasons in his career. That shouldn’t be difficult for Lauri to top.

Take Lauri and it isn’t all that close.

Looks like Lauri is heating up over in Europe. Those stats again in just 24 minutes. And 19/20 on free throws. Impressive. Learning to get to the free-throw line was a big part of Shai’s (and many others’) rise to the top. It’s about time Lauri learns those tricks.

I welcome this reality check as a Lauri fan no 1 on this forum. We will see a more clear picture of the state of 2025-26 Lauri, when the actual EuroBasket tournament starts. He'll face better competition. The biggest test will of course be Germany in the group stage. Lithuania is also pretty dangerous and tough team lately, even though they don't have as many NBA players these days they used to have on their roster.
