Exum Update

Over my 40-year career, I have seen a lot of good co-workers/managers fired, riffed, or quit. My observation is that when this happened, the former co-worker/manager -- no matter how highly respected or praised while employed -- suddenly became responsible for every problem or slight within the department. I knew for a fact that some of the accusations couldn't be true, but it was so much easier for everyone to besmirch the name of a former employee than take responsibility for the their own shortcomings.

I call this phenomena, "human nature."

This may not be the case with regard to Hayward, but it's something I keep in mind when we blame him for the Rubio trade or Exum's/Burks' lack of playing time.

I dont remember anyone blaming hayward for burks or exums lack of playing time. Burks playing time was always taken by the likes of roger braille, cj miles, josh howard, randy foye, richard jefferson, and rodney hood.
Exum has been robbed by the likes of neto and mack.
I think that using hindsight, the minutes allocated to braille, cj, josh howard, foye, jefferson, hood, neto and mack would have been better served going to Burks and X
Don't remember anyone ever blaming hayward though.

I cannot believe people actually want Deron back. What a distraction that would be for a player who is done. Play Rubio, Neto and Mitchell at point and wait until Exum gets back.

Actually, I may bring back Malone to be a stretch four. He only needs 12 PPG for this season and next for the scoring title.

You have to remember that Dante was 19 years old and not 21 like Donovan. Think of Donovan as a college freshman and compare those two players. It's impossible, but I'm sure Donovan wouldn't have been anything like what he is now. I'm just glad that he figured things out so quickly. Hopefully Dante can make up for lost time soon and surprise some people who think he is a bust.

I really don’t think Dante is a bust, I think Dante will be good. He sure is injury prone though.

Yeah, SLC Punks talked about pretty extensively in a pod a few months back. Andy Laesenz I feel like alludes to it a little bit from time to time.

My sense is that it was something used as a reason why Shelvin was playing over Dante, that G trusted Shelvin more. I don't think it was a "G dislikes Dante" thing, though I don't know.

Based on what I hear on Deron's podcast he doesn't sound that eager to play again.
