Exum Update

I just want to say that I approve this new trend where we've made "LoPo" a synonym for "dumb".

A team that preferred to play
Mack and Neto ahead of Exum does not deserve to keep Exum. Come on Dante, sign for anothet team . You don't need more torture from Synder and criticisms from stupid Jazz fans who hate you.

OMG!!! Cry harder. No one here is a bigger Exum fan then me, and even I could see he needed coaching more then playing time for a team that was in a playoff chase. He's going to be very good, but he's extremely raw. There were guys that deserved playing time more then him. Players progress quicker and slower then others, his time will come sooner or later.

Change your name. AuzzzieFan might be a good comparable.

Can we bring the Exum expectations back to earth? Let's start by hoping he becomes a decent rotation player.

Done, he did that in the second half of last year. He had a positive impact on the team while he was in. Lets, move on to the expectations. I share the same expectations as Snyder about Exum.

Dont worry little buddy, he will probably sign with another team. I think it is very very likely he signs with another team. So you will get your wish come true.

Then the Jazz will match, I guess you dont know what RFA means.

Gotta say I disagree with this last year. Exum was better than Mack for most of the season. There was an argument for Mack at the beginning of the year, but Exum definitely should have been given all those backup minutes. I think it would have made the Jazz a much better team when the playoffs came around. Mack was a disaster, and Exum's development was definitely a secondary concern to keeping Hayward happy I think. Around January Mack should have been planted on the bench and never played another minute before Exum.

We passed on making a waiver claim on Deron because "we don't want him to get in the way of Exum's developement." Would rather DWill be in the way than Mack.

Yeah I agree. They did that and then Mack still got way too many minutes after the fact. I think that one was pretty squarely on Quin though. For whatever reason he just trusted Mack a ton. I think if Mack was on this team he might be starting right now.

I think there were a lot of factors to it. Snyder did trust Mack more. I dont think he was necessarily wrong in that though. Mack was more consistent. I think Exum had higher highs while playing but also had lower lows. I think he averaged out better but Snyder wanted the consistency of Mack.

Additionally Snyder talked a great deal about developing Exum and being hard on him. I think he liked using Mack to try and Push Exum. He could pull Exum and talk to him about his mistakes and used him to try and motivate Exum to work harder. I think it was successful. As the season went on Exum really came out and tried to do more and played harder.

I think Snyder was much more concerned about the long term development of Exum than he was the slight difference between Exum and Mack for the backup minutes. Frankly neither of them were going to push us further in the playoffs and the W/L column would not change much regardless of who played the backup minutes.

I think the start of this season we saw the big improvements Exum made. His shot looked smooth and confident, his hard work in the gym had his athleticism at a higher point than it was before the injury, and we saw his competitiveness and willingness to try and take over games. Not all of that translates to being better in actual NBA games, but a lot of it does.

Exum's best game all last year was against GS in the playoffs when he got Utah back into the game that up to that point was a blowout. When everyone wanted Exum to start the 2nd half and continue his 1st half play ,his reward was back to the corner and Shane Mack starting at PG and the rout was back on.
Now Mack is in Orlando ,signed for 6 million and playing very little .Now Orlando fanz are pissed because Orlando didn't pick up Mario Hezonja's contract for 5 million and he becomes and unrestricted FA AND he's playing really good BB now.Mack's money represents Hezonja being let go.
I'd love to see Utah get Hezonja and put him in with Exum(PG),DM(SG),Hezonja(SF),Ingles(PF),Gobert(C)
