Jokes on all of you! Some LDS owned farms pay me for seed!
Not that kind of seed you perverts.
Not that kind of seed you perverts.
There is always a group(s) that is popular and “ok” to hate on.
Well the constitution and the IRS disagree with you.Separation of church and state is a reference to what the government can or can’t do and not the other way around. Granted, you may disagree with that, and that’s fine, but that term has long been misunderstood.
No it wasn't entirely outside the church, the mormons used it in their advertising. They are just rebranding the church now because they want to have people understand that the mormon church believes in Jesus. The name was used by people outside the church as a negative to describe people in the church. They then adopted the name. It served a purpose. Times change, not sure what the big deal is.
So is the church going to rename the Book of Mormon since they are not allowed to call themselves Mormons. Is that why people outside of the church and in the church just called members mormons?I didn't watch Conference. I don't know anything about it.
I think Rod Meldrum should be called as an Apostle because he still tries to defend the basic claims of the Book of Mormon. If you don't believe in the Book of Mormon you're not a Mormon.
Not many Mormons left. I am one.
But the second a Democrat complains on this site about Amazon you'll have a problem with it... Is that what you're saying?Your original question whiffed on the comparison. It's a main reason you seem to be struggling with what's going on.
I'm not bagging on someone for shopping on Amazon and voting democrat. Surely you could see that if you'd step back for a minute.
No. But I guess you're getting a little closer. But the second a Democrat complains on this site about Amazon you'll have a problem with it... Is that what you're saying?
Keep jumping to this spot, though. It's where you want to get, and you gotta keep trying to get there. If so it seems like you are splitting hairs because your original point got called out for the trash argument it clearly was.
When did I say that?Lol at Zombie thinking Naos is conservative.
Oh and I meant to say a Democrat who is an Amazon customer in my last post. Sorry.No. But I guess you're getting a little closer.

The term separation of church and state is a reference to the first amendment, which simply states:Well the constitution and the IRS disagree with you.
That's literally the only thing in the constitution addressing religion or church.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This idea that the outsiders used Mormons as derogatory may be true for some people but how can one not recognize that within the church promoted this term and at many times used it as a way to discuss the Book of Mormon. The church is rebranding themselves because they want to be included in the christianity group. I also believe they are distancing themselves away from Joseph Smith and more towards Jesus.I do think that is the heart of the issue. Mormons think of themselves as Christians, and most Christian religions think of Mormon beliefs to be antithetical to historic Christian orthodoxy. These other religions have used the term Mormon as a derogatory term.
Other Christians believe that Joseph Smith was a con man that "translated" the book of Mormon using magic stones in a hat in the same way that he tricked farmers out of money in upstate New York by "glass looking" to find treasure. Essentially these other Christian religions refuse to expand Christianity to mean those who have rejected orthodox Christian beliefs for what they believe is a nineteenth-century made up, heretical theology.
I personally think the Mormons should take the advice of Tyrion Lannister:
"Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."
Lol
As an ex-mormon this is this **** I laugh at with today's culture.
Replace mormon with any other religion, race, or everything that's intertwined and?
And dudes are in here questioning why they're wanting to step away from Mormon and focus on Christ.

With regard to the IRS, you're just talking about tax-exempt status, which really doesn't pertain here. In any case, there are many tax-exempt entities that get involved with politics. Planned Parenthood, for instance. Not only are they tax-exempt, they're taxpayer funded.
Lol

That, and I'm just getting ****ing tired of milquetoast liberals. They never fail to vote, though! There may have even been a rally they attended! They may have even given Bernie $27!I believe all NAOS is looking for here is for people to self-reflect.
