fanny pack

My band's frontman wears it all the time. He even once pulled out a switchblade out of it for us to cut the lemons we're gonna suck through the Olmeca shots we were about to do alongside a kilo pack of salt; which also happened in a public park.

I don't remember the rest.

I remember people laughing at us on the way back home as we are waiting for the hot-dog guy to feed us and we were shouting around singing and joking.

Then the scene after is cut again.

To the point that I puke out a whole sausage to the carpet near my bed.

Hah, I dunno.

All I mean is I have this friend from college and the other day he posted a bathroom selfie in Vegas and had a neon fanny pack on and thought it was the height of hilarity that he was wearing a neon fanny pack and was about to hit the strip.

**** like that bothers me^. Tryin too hard.
 
On the other hand, I had a friend who posted pics from Disneyland a bit ago and her Dad was wearing a fanny pack in all of them, but you could tell it was all for convenience and he didnt GAF what it looked like he was just at MF'in Disneyland and needed a place to store his stuff.

My dad always wore/wears a fanny pack when vacationing and those thoughts echo his sentiments.
 
Amusement parks and hikes are about the only acceptable uses that I can see for a man to wear a fanny pack.

However, why are they called "fanny packs" when the compartment is always in the front, rather than covering your "fanny".
