Agreed.Jazz need to bring in someone better in O'neal's spot. I like him but trading him, Niang, Azubuike and maybe picks for someone better is in order.

We knew this before the draft. We knew we needed a wing defender. Our team D is solid but we will struggle against bigger more athletic teams especially with big athletic wings. But we didn't do anything to remedy this. We drafted a poor-man's Gobert, if we're lucky.I like Bogey but I think he isn't enough, our young guys can help but Niang lacks also, we need more
Is trevor ariza’s corpse still around? What about James Posey? Cuz a guy like that would be perfect right nowWe don’t need a trade. We just need to all hold hands and pray for an OPJ buyout.
No we need to crash the boards, as a team, and we just didn't do that.Royce did his best. but he's only 6'4 and the jazz needs a legit forward who can secure those defensive boards behind rudy when he left the paint.
that mcdaniels kid is showing some legit 3D/rim protecting potential in minny. wonder what it would take to get himJazz need to bring in someone better in O'neal's spot. I like him but trading him, Niang, Azubuike and maybe picks for someone better is in order.
Duh, he needs to be 4 inches taller. Damn QS not getting his players to be taller! ************.Jebus the Royce Haters are back. Please tell me how he could have been better. He was solid. The second offensive rebound sucked on that play but Kawhi might be the strongest wing in the ****ing league. Leonard made tough shots and had to work. One more body to throw out there would be great. We might have the guy on the roster already but Quin ain’t ever gonna bench Niang.
because we as a team are simply outmuscled and out-hustled by a team more physical and bigger than us. me as a 5'8/160lb can jump as high as i possibly can against a guy 6ft/200lb and guess who's gonna end up with the rebound? that's how i feel about guys like Royce/bojan/ingles trying to get us a rebound when rudy isn't there. No we need to crash the boards, as a team, and we just didn't do that.
Zero points isn't a good amount. So to answer your question of how he could have been better..... Score 1 pointJebus the Royce Haters are back. Please tell me how he could have been better. I believe he’s with OKC (sitting out). Should likely get bought out (nobody’s trading for him). Here was my take on it a couple days ago:Is trevor ariza’s corpse still around? What about James Posey? Cuz a guy like that would be perfect right now
But one guy I’d also consider a revisit on is Ariza. I wouldn’t say I’m ready to buy, but I’m curious. You could say I’m buy-curious. I know the consensus is that the dude is washed, and I know you were more familiar with him being unmotivated in Sacramento. But he seemed to be okay in Portland. I remember TJ would always be cryptic about another “wing” the Jazz were going to sign if they got Mirotic, and nobody really fit the bill. Perhaps him, I don’t know. But I think playing unmotivated in Sacramento and not playing in OKC is probably a huge red flag for the FO in terms of who they bring in to the organization. But based purely off skill, I think him being washed isn’t as big of a deal. The guys we’d be picking up someone like him for would be the bigger perimeter guys where we need some length, and could perhaps sacrifice some lateral quickness in the event that he’s lost some. Think the Joe Ingles approach. Ingles can be a smart defender, despite physical limitations, and if Ariza can just play a few minutes of smart defense on the likes of Kawhi, PG, LeBron, etc.
Oversimplifying it. Rodman was not the best rebounder because he was the tallest guy. How did Westbrook at 6'4", maybe, average nearly 10 per? Rebounding is 90% hustle. It's a mindset. Perform the basics and outwork the other guy. How do you think Royce increased his rebounding this year to career numbers for him? All while he is almost always going to against guys taller than him. We have been out-rebounding almost everyone almost every game and it isn't just Gobert. It's a team effort spearheaded by individual hustle.because we as a team are simply outmuscled and out-hustled by a team more physical and bigger than us. me as a 5'8/160lb can jump as high as i possibly can against a guy 6ft/200lb and guess who's gonna end up with the rebound? that's how i feel about guys like Royce/bojan/ingles trying to get us a rebound when rudy isn't there.
I gots news for y’all... he could be taller and Kawhi will still get his fade away off.Duh, he needs to be 4 inches taller. Damn QS not getting his players to be taller! ************.
Sure but he’s dependent on other guys setting him up... just like Rudy. We have enough creators... he will have nights like this on offense but it just means his guy wasn’t leaving him to rotate. We didn’t move the ball tonight... when we don’t move the ball he won’t get shots.Zero points isn't a good amount. So to answer your question of how he could have been better..... Score 1 point
And fwiw I did say I like Royce. There is a lot to like about his game. But zero points in 37 minutes is the definitely the part of Royce "buckets" oneals game that I like the least.

See, Rodman is an underrated leaper with giant hands, which allow him to hustle with guys bigger than him. that's why he's a hall of famer because noone can do what he does. so is Barkley. Their body strength, quickness, hands, leaping more than made up for their lack of size.Oversimplifying it. Rodman was not the best rebounder because he was the tallest guy. We didn't show that hustle tonight, we didn't crash the boards, so we didn't get the boards when we needed to.
So how do you explain the fact that we are the top rebounding team in the league? Sorry but you're just wrong. Yes equal effort, the taller guy has a much better shot at getting the rebound. But there are plenty of tall guys that are crappy rebounders. Sounds like you never played organized ball.See, Rodman is an underrated leaper with giant hands, which allow him to hustle with guys bigger than him. that's why he's a hall of famer because noone can do what he does. so is Barkley. simply because those all time greats/hall of famers pulled it off, don't just automatically assume that guys like niang, bojan, royce can do it too.
hustle is not just a mental thing, it also requires enormous amount of physicality.
This.Y'all, the Clippers are a GREAT team when they are at full strength and focused. Jazz could've played better, but I'm proud of the Jazz and y'all can suck it.
Jazz couldn't hit ****, the Clippers have hellacious defensive talent, and the Jazz had a game to the last second. A couple of frustrating given up offensive rebounds and the Jazz maybe win this. On the road. Against the biggest threat to knock-off the Lakers.
Like, let's have a little perspective about how much the Jazz have been fighting above their weight, and they also haven't had anything resembling crunch time in a minute. They'll be better for this.
That being said, there's a reason there's been a consensus about bringing in a bigger perimeter defender. Cuz we need it. I don't think there's a move the Jazz can make except on the buyout market, so hopefully something shakes loose.
