What's new

See, Rodman is an underrated leaper with giant hands, which allow him to hustle with guys bigger than him. that's why he's a hall of famer because noone can do what he does. so is Barkley. Their body strength, quickness, hands, leaping more than made up for their lack of size.

simply because those all time greats/hall of famers pulled it off, don't just automatically assume that guys like niang, bojan, royce can do it too.

hustle is not just a mental thing, it also requires enormous amount of physicality.
So how do you explain the fact that we are the top rebounding team in the league? Sorry but you're just wrong. Yes equal effort, the taller guy has a much better shot at getting the rebound. But there are plenty of tall guys that are crappy rebounders. Sounds like you never played organized ball.

None of us want to be defeated, folks. But this was a good game for us. We fought to the end. We have shown what a great team we are. We have a few weaknesses and we need to focus on them.

1-) We have a hard time against teams that play five perimeter players. This became very clear at the end of the game today. We were not effective against the Batum-PG-Kawhi-PatBev-Marcus Morris five. Rudy has to go out against fives like this and contest the shots. For a team that is used to Rudy's presence in the paint, this is a difficult thing to adapt to.

2-) Again, playing against fives like this, we have a problem with rebounds, which is very expected. Royce always defends the opponent's best perimeter player. When Rudy defends the threat of shooting from the 3-point line, it is very difficult to get those long rebounds from the three pointers. Royce has to be close to his man, Donovan is 6'1, Conley is 6'1, Bogey is a bad rebounder and Rudy is a human being he cannot be in 3 places at the same time. So who will get those rebounds?

3-) We experienced a problem that we saw in the Philadelphia game today. We are struggling against teams with two dynamic wings. While Royce defends one, the other is always comfortably attacking and sometimes Royce has a bad day (which is very normal). Simmons and Tobias Harris played well against us, despite Embiid's absence in that game. We could have lost that game if JC didn't go crazy. That's the disadvantage of having one good outside defender. In the days when Royce can't slow his man, we really having hard time defensively. We couldn't do anything against Murray in last year's Denver series.

The solution to all these problems is a wing that is at least 6'7 long, good defender, has lateral quickness, can get rebounds, and can hit the corner three. I know this is really hard to find. Even if we find it, we do not have any cap space. (Do not mention buyout, there is no player in buyout that fits this description) Maybe we can trade. Since we will not give up our main rotation of 8 players (Don, Rudy, Joe, Bogey, Royce, Mike, JC, Favors), there is a problem that arises that the salaries of the players we will give up are very low. This is a huge problem for trade and we don't have any assets, maybe we can give up Udoka. I'd give so much to have someone like Robert Covington right now.

Anyway guys we are okay, that was an educative loss. Go JAZZ!!!

Sorry if I made grammatical mistakes, English is my second language.

Y'all, the Clippers are a GREAT team when they are at full strength and focused. Jazz could've played better, but I'm proud of the Jazz and y'all can suck it.

Jazz couldn't hit ****, the Clippers have hellacious defensive talent, and the Jazz had a game to the last second. A couple of frustrating given up offensive rebounds and the Jazz maybe win this. On the road. Against the biggest threat to knock-off the Lakers.

Like, let's have a little perspective about how much the Jazz have been fighting above their weight, and they also haven't had anything resembling crunch time in a minute. They'll be better for this.

That being said, there's a reason there's been a consensus about bringing in a bigger perimeter defender. Cuz we need it. I don't think there's a move the Jazz can make except on the buyout market, so hopefully something shakes loose.
This.

I'm actually encouraged by this game. We showed we are definitely contenders.
We will also learn a lot from this game. I expect if we see them in the post season, Quin will have their number.

The refs sucked

Beverley ended the game with one foul.

I stopped watching at halftime. What they were getting away with yet what we were getting called for was just too much for me to stay up and watch.

Don got called for more fouls in the first 6 minutes than Beverley got called for all game yet Beverley hacked Don to bits all 1st half.

If we don't get respect from the refs, we have zero chance of winning a title. Zero.

A win here would have sent Jazz fans over the moon. Frustrating that it didn't happen, but man we've been on a hell of a ride and I hope, as Donovan said, this is just a bump in the road on the way to bigger things.

This game showed the importance of finishing with the best record in the west. We need the 2 LA teams to match up before meeting us in the playoffs. Keep pushing...

Oh jeez. That’s your comeback? LOL

Okay dude, you totally got me. You were “pretty sure” that they’re the better team. Man, so glad you straightened me out.
Tell us about their terrible centers and guards. That was fun, but then you ran away from it like your hair was on fire.

Also, yeah, I think the jazz need to improve. Bite me.

They are able to take us out of what we want to do... it felt like we missed the shots we needed to and had some dumb mistakes at tough times.

That said they got great performances from their role players. I think we have a good chance at beating them. Quin has some work to do. Part of it will be instead of just trying to beat them with force you need to use their aggressiveness against them... like this is some miyagido ****. They had the one play where they crossed DM and Mike and Bev prolly should have switched but he’s so concerned about not giving Don anything that Mike got a wide open three.

The other thing to remember is that PG always seems to be hurt in the playoffs... Beverly is injury prone... Kawhi has the tendinopathy issue... like this might be the healthiest they have ever been.

I don’t feel great about the loss because every game is a must win game... but I think we can hang with these guys for sure... always takes a little luck to win the whole thing.
They really expose our two weakest spots:

1. wing defense
2. The tendency to melt when up against a tough perimeter defense
