Do you actually think it hurt? Do you really think that FedEx dreaded the idea of getting in front of millions of people to reaffirm the fact that they're one of the biggest and best delivery companies in the world? Again, do you actually think anyone decided NOT to go w/ FedEx this year because of that video? (actually, there are morons in the world that wouldn't -- The Thriller -- so that was probably a stupid question)
No, I've never even heard of K&R.
I doubt it has any effect at all. What I see is an overworked and angry seasonal employee. And FedEx, UPS and the USPS all have a ton of those. What I might consider is going to a brick and mortar store vs. buying on-line. Besides, if you don't have shipping insurance, most credit card issuers give you limited protection. Bottom line is the manufacturer and shipper have 100% liability until the package is delivered to your door and you sign for it.Like Salty said a couple posts up, you can bet some people saw this or read about this incident and decided not to use FedEx going forward. Yet, I can say with the utmost confidence that I believe no one saw this and said, "Hey, I totally forgot about FedEx. I'm going to start using them" or "Hey, what great customer service, I'm going to start using FedEx." In no way does this help FedEx. People already know they're out there and can use them if they want. Now though, people may see this video and decide to go elsewhere.
I've actually worked for FedEx in North Salt Lake and I can guarantee you that every single employee that loads the trucks that do home delivery throws packages. It just depends on how many packages are coming down the belt at once and if they have time to put it on the truck shelf. If too many packages are coming down at once, then someones package(s) are going to get a football toss somewhere.
