We already have been over this many times. Nobody is talking about trading him for Anthony Davis because that's a ridiculous notion. The main idea was always a trade for a pick in the draft, because then hey we could just sign Millsap.

It would be stupid for us to trade for Davis. He is going to take the qualifying offer. After which he is going to want to play for the young and studly Jazz so that he can build a dynasty.

We're going to have so many lineup options when AD gets here.

No, simply because they don't really have any assets that would interest the Jazz. Marcus Smart is the one that comes the closest to it.
The reasonable ones were saying mainly that Utah wouldn't even answer the phone for those offers or would hang up laughing, or were generally shocked that we would be willing to trade Favors at all.

What would you give up for Favors? He would provide the athletic brute type play at the four that would go with Harris and Zeller better than Monroe or Sullinger. He could play five with Crowder and Harris in smaller lineups. And his contract is pretty good and might even fit in the Rondo TPE.

Bradley and Sullinger? Turner and Sullinger? A future first might need to be added I would think. Would Utah hang up?

It's because that idiot Jody Gennesy made up that rumor about trading Favors. So of course they think they can get him cheap since we don't value him high and would rather have Millsap.

I'd be willing to be that Bulls fans would laugh at us for suggesting we trade a bunch of parts for Jimmy Butler. Funny thing is though, most the people here wouldn't do it.

Jazz actually have enough pieces that we COULD trade for a star if we desired to. Not many teams have that ability. I'm sure that we could put together a package to get Cousins if we desired. Gobert alone could probably get us any but perhaps a dozen players (and six or seven of the teams with those players would be idiotic NOT to do it.) It is important that we have success in order to increase the value of those players. Things are pretty bright in Jazzland.

funny tidbit. The poster who sounds like the voice of reason here is the same one that suggested the idiotic post I quoted. Even the reasonable ones are far undervaluing Favors' value to this team.

Agree. Been trying to figure 3 team deals to satisfy them. I'm not really sure what they're interested in. Frye + Fournier + Harkless?

Last year, I was hoping for a Harris for Favors swap. Unfortunately, that opportunity never presented itself, but I believe that would have been the best offer. Perhaps after re-signing Harris, that talk with the Jazz can occur after December.

I reckon we might be able to trade Harris for Favors in the future, after we match him and he becomes eligible to be traded (providing there aren't any no-trade clauses).

Here's another crack at it without splitting up the core. Add the Lakers pick and 2nd rounders to Rox or Jazz to even it out as you may see fit.
