Because pretty much every great combo guard, or one that really contributes to team success are very capable shooters.
That is something I certainly agree with.

Tony Parker early on was more of a combo guard, at least in style of play.
I don't know about anyone else, but I know it's easy for me to discredit his successes when considering his playing with the most skilled and fundamental big since Hakeem and for possibly the best coach of all time. It's pretty easy for Spurs fans to as well from what little I've seen.Tony Parker early on was more of a combo guard, at least in style of play.
I think you missed my point. Dude didn't really demonstrate strong point guard skills early in his career, as the offense was run largely through Tim Duncan. With Hayward, Burks, Millsap, it might not be that important for a future Jazz PG to have great PG skills, and Rivers might then be a viable option in the draft (obviously depending on the Jazz's draft position, if they have any picks at all). What PG did he play alongside of?

I guess I should be mad he is playing good because it means he wont drop to us.
Watching. His best game of the year. I don't think we have any shot of drafting him .. unless we lose every game from here out ..
