RE-DO: Here's my crappy Utah Jazz mock prediction thingamajig.

14: Schroeder - PG - We all know who this guy is. Seems like a good floor leader, hard worker, nice potential. This just isn't a very good PG class, and I'm not entirely impressed by Burke/MCW/anybody else except McCollum. If we do draft Schroeder, we will need to sign a veteran PG for a 1-2 year deal. Need to.

21: Mike Muscala - PF/C - Bucknell - This one is a little out there, but I really, really like Muscala. He won't last until our 2nd, we need a backup big, and the kid can play. He will rebound, he has the size to play effective enough defense, and he's a really savvy offensive player. If you get a big guy that can consistently hit an open jumper and rebound, you take him. Perfect backup, and we need one.

Whatever number our 2nd round pick is: Screw it. They all suck. Pick a PG between Canaan/Kabongo/Ray McCallum.

Defending at the crap level he plays at is nothing compared to the guys he'll defend at the nba level. He's 6-2 and only 160 something lb's. he's not very strong, in a league with bigger more physical pg's. I'm sure he's a good defender, just not sure it will translate to the big leagues.

He will be able to bulk up, but it will take 2 years or so. Anybody expecting him to be a good defensive player right away is going to be very disappointed. I do expect him to be a good defensive player within 3-4 years though. That's why I think if we draft him, we need to sign a veteran PG so that we can give Schroeder time to develop and not just throw him to the wolves.

Three teams interviewed Muscala at the Combine.....Jazz, Spurs and somebody else that I forgot already.

I read somewhere since then that the Spurs love him. I have kept an eye on him for some time, you speak truth...he consistantly rebounds and he was the best jumpshooter at the combine. He measures out to similar to Perry Jones and Nikola Vucivic, but lighter than both. I don't know if he can play C, probably a stretch 4, but for a team like the Jazz or Spurs where a pf (Favors or Duncan) are effectivley the C anyway Muscala makes sense as a bench or rotation player.

So let me get this right. You hate him because he has an orange spot on his head?

He certainly is an interesting project. If he was a little quicker on his feet I would like him more.
 
I like Schroeder at 12.
Think Muscala at 21 is a reach and that there are potential starter-caliber players at 21.
I would take Glen Rice Jr. at 21 if he's even there. Pretty sure he's a 1st-round pick.
