Following potential 2013 draftees

^^^

BTW, if he falls past the Kings, we have to do everything we can go grab him guys. He's good value at that spot. He provides leadership. He's a solid 3pt shooter. He's a fighter and a warrior.

Remember, a star PG doesn't win Chips. We only need a solid floor general setting up other guys and hitting those 3's.

I agree he would be great for our team.. but I think other teams would see that same value...

Not to nit pick.. but I wouldn't call him mentally tough as much as intense and has an inner fire more than most. He sulked too much when Cal would get on him.. which bugged me, but he's just a freshman.

Okay, call it competitive fire and determination....or something.

You know who was like that? Michael Jordan.

Regarding Giannis, you can see some of his defensive potential. He has fairly good timing and instincts. He needs to work on his strength, elevation and explosiveness to be sure. That's not an impressive level of competition athletically speaking though. He needs to get out of Greece and do workouts in the US against American players.

Re: Giannis - don't forget that the footage was from the Croatia game which, by all accounts, he did not do well in. The next game was much better than scouts/GMs were more impressed with his talent on the back of that game.

Ford's writeup after the under 20 showing:

Antetokounmpo was the star of the Eurocamp even though he didn't play a single minute there. His under-20 Greek team played a few exhibition games 40 minutes from Treviso, and a horde of NBA GMs and scouts skipped out of the evening Eurocamp games to take a look as he played against his first real competition of the year. Antetokounmpo's 11 points, six rebounds and four assists in the opening game versus Croatia was met with both praise (for his athletic ability and overall talent) and wariness (virtually every GM and scout I spoke with felt he was years away from contributing at the NBA level). He was much better in the second game, scoring 17 points and grabbing five rebounds in just 20 minutes against Turkey. Unfortunately, many of the NBA scouts who attended the first game didn't come back to see him against Turkey. Antetokounmpo clearly has tremendous upside, and based on the feedback I heard, really helped himself. Some scouts believe he won't get past the Hawks on draft night.
