Following potential 2013 draftees

That would be nice. I think the trick isn't getting ZERO return, it's possibly bringing one back and trading the other for someone like Bledsoe. We'd still suck, but we have a LOT of nice pieces going forward with great positional balance allowing us to just take BPA.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

So I take it the knock on Carter-Williams is his flakey shooting? He was 4 - 13 against Louisville. Great win for SU though.

The only other knock might be that he looks a bit like Gumby when he runs the floor.

I might actually put Marcus Smart at the top of my PG list du jour.

Here is my limited analysis on Smart (I only watched the second half of the game today):

Strengths:
Strong
Great boxer outer
Good court vision

Weaknesses:
Shooting
Defense
Speed

Luke warm on:
Motor
Decision making

I have brought him up before and been shot own but if he can be had in the second round I take him. Hs name is Doug McDermott. He is not very strong and he will never be your best defender but he can score from the inside, outside and midrange. He is shooting over 50% from behind the arc and over 55% from the field as the primary scorer for Creighton.

The more I think about it the more I think PKM is right. This crop of PG is just "Meh" ... each of them has at least 1 glaring fundamental weakness that it's hard to imagine them ever becoming anything but "average"....

Burke - finishing at the rim
Mcw - shooting
Smart - shooting, TO prone
MacC - more of a SG

There has been a real drought of PG's for sure. Wall, Lillard, Irving .. not a whole lot more.

This is the last of the famine years, though. There's some finally on their way.

FWIW, I think Marcus Smart's speed is at least comparable to players like DWill and Chauncey Billups. You just have to decide if you want that bruiser-style PG. Smart's athleticism in high school is somewhat comparable to DeShawn Stevens. He's not a jet, but he's definitely an NBA athlete. I also think the shooting will come around, largely because he seems mentally strong and determined.

Bad news for the Tankers and good news for the Jazz:

"@gswstats: David Lee out with a sprained left ankle. Since Lee joined GSW, Warriors are 2-16 without him (1-8 in 2011-12, 1-8 in 2010-11)"
