Following potential 2013 draftees

k but forreal tho, this is true.

The draft we got Kanter was worst darft evars!!!!

I liked that draft more than most. Generally, I do think people can overreact to drafts, but this one really is bad, imo. And next year's will be just as good as this one is bad. I'm sure there will be a few All-Stars from this draft like any, but there will be a few superstars in next year's...along with many All-Stars.

Anyone else into Shane Larkin? His measurements are extremely poor from a size perspective, but I think he has more game than Trey Burke. I see y'all talking about a lot of people on this thread, but not love for Larkin.

His assist to turnover ratio is pretty dreadful, along with a super short wingspan. It would be very hard for him to protect the ball against the long armed defenders of the NBA.

Jeff Withey is a monster, honestly wouldn't mind taking him with the GSW pick. Withey had 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 blocks today against UNC.

I don't think this draft is as terrible as people are saying. There are some good players out there. It's just that the big-name programs are a bit down this year. Also, the college game is so different from the NBA it can hide NBA talent. If those guards from Minnesota were playing at a bigger-name program, I think people would be talking about them. That Sherwood Brown kid from Florida Gulf Coast has some NBA potential, but no one's heard of him.

Withey compares well to Omer Asik.
Olynyk compares favorably to David Lee.
Smart will be a solid pro.
Porter >> Harrison Barnes
Burke > Kemba Walker
McDermott > Matt Harpring
McCollum = Brad Beal
BJ Young compares reasonably to Mike Conley, but no one is talking about him.

I could see Marcus Smart having an impact in the league close to Gary Payton even though they are different body types. He could be a strong defensive presence whose offense is coming along.

I just remember people getting excited about last year's players--TRob, MKG, Rivers, Quincy Miller, Sullinger, Jeremy Lamb, Terrence Jones, etc.--like it was a strong class. I think this year is as good. It's just lacking an Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond.

Lillard? Beal? There was more than just Davis and Drummond.
