Following potential 2013 draftees

Does he need to be a passing PG?

Put him in a lineup with Burks and Hayward, both of whom can initiate an offense. From there, we have 3 players who can initiate the offense, dribble the ball down the court, and create either for themselves or for others. That's a dangerous lineup.

I've felt this way for a while.

Be prepared to complain about CJ just how we complain about Mo then.

I'm prepared.

Obviously it could work if CJ is able to develop the sense of when to play "hero ball" and when to sit back and let others play. That is the biggest thing that holds scoring PG's back from being effective, the inability to properly to control tempo to where it is always in the teams favor because they just have "score score score" on their minds.

I think too many people over-emphasize the notion that a pg's responsibility is to bring the ball up.. breaking a press, while under-valuing a pure pg's role of setting up the offense, being a coach on the floor (geeting everyone into position and moving correctly to execute the practiced plays), and a leader in the locker room. I understand we have other ball-handlers.. but we do not have anyone I just described.. which is why I wanted Burke. CJ is not that guy from what we've seen.. but I have some somewhat blind confidence.

Mo came to this team as a supposed hero. He has taken that too seriously and it has hurt this team.

McCollum doesn't have the experience of Hayward or Burks in the NBA and I can see him finding his role instead of just taking over from day 1.

I see Hayward filling that role.

Lol.. no way Hayward is or ever will be what I just described.

In the locker room... "guys... GUYS!!.. guys? Hey listen to me guys.. listen up guys.. guys? C'mon guys, get serious a minute guys. Guys!"

"Guys, we are like the Terran and the Zerg are attacking. We need to regroup and gather minerals for our next attack. Ok, I'm setting the rally point here.... break".

It isn't simply whether or not McCollum is that guy. It's that he's a guy who COULD BE, and might be available when we select.

Also, we need more than just a distributor. We desperately need another scorer. He would obviously need to balance his attack, but a score-heavy guard will fit just fine.
