Following potential 2013 draftees

You might be on to something about burke/burks.

I believe though that KOC is in love with Mo Williams. Prepare for him to be here for a while.

I agree, but I can still see us drafting a PG. He'll just be stuck behind Mo for 4-5 years.

Nah.. Mo will be looking for a big last contract for his career. No way KOC is stupid enough to give him that.

He's good, but he's not THAT good.

Also with the surgery you're risking him missing time again... (Kirilenko anyone?)

Nah.

Ill bet you 1 million fake monies we re-sign Mo. Probably for around. 4 years 32 million.

Well let's look at it this way.

KOC loves steady PG who controls the game and 'may be' can shoot the occasional 3's. Case in point: Tinsley, Watson.

So why not re-sign Tinsley and Watson. You have Burks who can play the PG. Then you go and draft Burke who's basically a younger version of Tinsley/Watson but will cost a fraction of the price & can shoot the 3's as well.

So now you'll have Burke, Tinsley, Watson, Burks at the PG at your disposal and you can spend that $32 elsewhere.

I think we'll re-sign Mo, but it better not be for ****ing 8mil per.

But it will be Spy. The way the league is, guys are overpaid every year because there aren't enough actual really good players floating around. Its why we see guys like Eric Gorfon and Roy Hibbert getting max contracts. We'll have to pay ot because if we don't then he'll go get it somewhere else.

We could sit here all day and discuss things that make sense, but its not how Jazz management really works. I don't disagree that we should draft a future point guard and not waste our money on Mo. I don't want Mo here for that money either. But KOC is paid to get this team to the playoffs, and be competitive. Rookies dont make you competitive. We may draft one, but I can guarantee we will have a vet in there getting the burn until the rookie is ready. There will be no handing the reigns over to some rook and taking a chance we don't make the playoffs. I think thats pretty evident. Plus I believe KOC really likes Mo's game.

This.

I'm of the opinion that we'll re-sign Mo, but still look to draft a PG of the future and have him "develop" off the bench till he's ready to start in a few years.

If we pay him that much per year, I hope it's for only two years.

Don't screw this up, Kevin O'Lindsey.

I can't cos I'm busy...

But personally I don't think KOC will re-sign him because:

- We just won't be able to afford the big/long-term/swan song contract Mo will be seeking (at least 4 years IMO);
- Since Kirilenko's experience, we've been gun shy in offering large/long term contracts anyway;
- Coming off his injury I doubt Mo will come back strong straight away (look at Kevin Love), making it hard to pull the trigger;
- Hesitation to offer the long term contract due to uncertainty, again from the injury;
- Fans haven't yet 'embraced' Mo the way KOC envisioned that we will.

Just my thoughts..

KOC has always said letting Mo go was the biggest mistake of his career. I'm worried he is going to overcorrect himself.
