Following potential 2013 draftees

What do you guys think of Nate Wolters? I saw him play against Murray St. for the first time the other day and was pretty impressed. He's got good change of speed. A true point. Can play both with the ball and without. Knock down shooter. Very smart player. He actually reminded me a little of Steph Curry. One of the things that jumped out to me is that he looks stronger than I thought he would.

I feel like he forced some turnovers that game and was about 7 points below his average as well. All in all I agree with you. 2nd rounder.

Not as good as Porter .. I can tell you THAT!

No way... lol you guys are relentless ill give you that.

if your objective is to have me repeat myself over and over and over about not being an alt, like the reason i trashed my first and only other account Pootie tang.

it will work. i HATE repeating myself.

i dislike being put in the vacuum of no explicit material, no curses anyway. makes me feel like bill cosby instead of george carlin. i understand why, it just doesnt fit me.

Please use some proper capitalization and punctuation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_6DrDETub8 -- Keith Appling...

trey burke has at least 200 mentions in this thread, what about the msu pg.

i prefer him(@#47) over burke with golden states pick(~18) or our pick (~20)

and id contend he has a quicker first step.

i dont like using the "poor mans" player comparison, thats lazy imo.

but if i had to judge appling and burkes ability to play poor mans tony parker, something inclines me to believe appling can get to the rack better. i could be wrong, but ive redflagged trey burke and Michigan deep in the tourney, someone will have a strategy ready for him...

That's what we've all been waiting for. The further Burke slips the better our chance for picking him at around #17-#19 mark.

Burke is a much better prospect IMO. Has the steady hand, nearly 4:1 assist/TO ratio, accurate from the 3pt range. Most of all I'm impressed with his leadership and his ability to run the team, finding ways to get guys involved. Appling is averaging 3.8 assists and 2.5 TO, with 31.6% from 3's. Just a bit erratic for my liking.

May be Burke's ceiling isn't high, but that's what you get picking in the mid teens.

4:1 assist/TO ratio

do you think he can acheive a 4:1 in the first few years. if you see it that way i can understand taking him at 18

EDIT:
im pretty sure where my bracket is heading, i like gonzaga to go deep this year, been saying it way before they hit the top 10. anyone care to entertain me on why thats an absurd notion?

EDIT 2:
id just like to say if burke was j kidd's size id think of taking him over smart.
that being said his measurables arent awful... (YET, hes gonna drop during the workouts, i suspect)

6'0, 6'5"wingspan isnt too shabby. still i question what your grading his athletecism at... someone show me a video demonstrating his best crossovers and i may change my mind.

now vs the other pgs in the draft is one thing, but thats not how the jazz draft. they look for bpa against the leauge postitions, specifically something you are all actually way too concerned with... Match-ups.

how does burke match up in the spectrum of nba pg's(on offense and D) how he is vs his class is mundane, how does it translate is what matters.

No of course not. All college stats is really to give you an indication of that player.. I sure most players' stats don't really translate..

Tinsley has been decent for us this year. He's been steady with low TO's (did u see Watson today?) Always looking to pass and set up other players. His 3pt shooting hasn't been very reliable though.

Picking Burke at say #18 is really no risk at all if he can somehow study under Tinsley and become a similar player who looks to set up team mates and hit the occasional 3's.

"the master of the mid-range jumpshot, and did much damage from impossible angles"

ok ill sit and wait for a response after this one.

this is where i redflag trey burke. he seems like he may be benfiting from being in the right place at the right time. i dont see him consistently pressuring the defense and breaking it whenever he pleases. hes a probing pg with a nice bag of tricks for a shooter. here the thing, if im gonna have a probing pg they better be able to pass as well as lets say tinsley. i dont see it from burke, atleast not in the first 4 years of his contract, which is really what matters. give me bj young he is built for offense in a small space. or appling or harrow in the 2nd round, thats a no-brainer imo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLXcgZ84ndk - attacking from unseen angles has always been an effective strategy, burke's game is too straightfoward for me... if he was built like j kidd or lets say alec burks, you wouldent need him to be able to perform in a vacuum, you could just let him run and trust the matchups, i dont trust trey burke like that in the nba.
