Following potential 2013 draftees

Picking Burke at say #18 is really no risk

no risk on him not panning out?
no risk of overlooking a better player?
no risk on something your counting on to translate, not happening?
no risk on being a 1st round pick that gets benched and sold like maynor?
no risk of being a defensive liability?

when you say 'no-risk', are you saying 0% chance?
because that means you think hes cant miss(@ #18). or am i jumping to conclusions, again?

or is it you who are jumping to conclusions too early?

why make a finite decision on burkes draft position right now at this point, lot of moving parts still in the equation... IMHO

i percieve the burke defenders to sound similar to the 'kendall marshall: the floor general' Christmas-carolers of yesteryear..

Re: Gonzaga

Only that they do this too often... weak schedule, high rank, hype, early exit .....

Not sayjng that's what will happen this year, but history is too much a powerful reminder to simply set to ignore.

Hotttnickkk, I thought Burke was too short to play in the NBA, what made you change your tune?

Point_god, I assume by caroling you mean blind cheerleading? Burke has his weaknesses: he isn't a lock down defender, can get caught up in the moment of the game and want to do everything himself resulting in poor shot selection, and his size hurts him in the paint. There really is no way to be certain his game will translate to the NBA and he by no means is a no risk pick.

His strengths are his drive to get better/work ethic, leadership on the court, will to win, speed, takes care of the ball, nice balance of both shooter and passer, he can actually shoot. He has improved in every category from last year and that illustrates what kind of character this guy has.

SEASON TEAM MIN FGM-FGA FG% 3PM-3PA 3P% FTM-FTA FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
2012-13 MICH 34.8 6.9-14.0 .496 2.0-5.0 .397 3.0-3.8 .786 3.1 6.9 0.4 1.4 1.8 1.8 18.9
2011-12 MICH 36.1 5.2-12.0 .433 1.7-4.8 .348 2.7-3.7 .744 3.5 4.6 0.4 0.9 1.6 2.8 14.8

I could see him struggling his first year in the NBA, then working his butt off in the offseason to do what it takes to succeed......but really, no one knows how things will pan out.

im glad you brought that up its my biggest problem, ive debunked that by thinking this is the best gonzaga team ever, and the most depth

i also like that olynyk and Harris are battletested from playing on their national teams.

my biggest question is Pangos. have an opinion on his game?

i was hoping to pick them to win the championship as a 3 or 4 seed, everyone has been folding in-front of them though.. as a 1 seed, ive gotta really be sure.

i do contend if they go down, someone will need to be ballistic-ally hot on the other team.

Mark Few's 369-92 record eases my fears. and they have a massive polish kid on the bench incase someone tries to punk their 'skill' players.

do you have an opinion on:

you posted the wrong gifs im not gonna nitpick those too much.

but you posted his best crossovers vs white kids.

and his stepback jumpers.

doesnt address my thesis of how he doesnt translate to the nba, only enforces it (IMHO)

consider your work debunked (IMHO)

How does Trey Burke compare to Steph Curry...

?

specifically their step-back jumpers.

if someone can convince me hes like that, or a teir below. i may change my stance

EDIT: why is he always fading away from the basket?

I actually wasn't addressing your thesis - posted purely for entertainment.

btw not only was i right about brook lopez being worthy of a #1 draft pick((he reminds me of a 7' duncan)) i fuuuully endorsed the knicks taking him and trading up to put ibaka next to him he was a 2nd rounder i was screaming no friggin way, okc took him 24th, they chose him over harden... thats a sick pair no doubt. (B. Lopez + Ibaka)

we could have done it we had the assets in my estimation... the last basketball forum i was on literally talked so much **** to me about brook lopez id root for the nets because i wanted my knicks to tank anyway, i dont want to ever root for my team to tank again, thats one of the reasons i picked the jazz, this is the way of an above-average omega wolf. we never starve.

EDIT; id be in the draft thread and say take brook and people would say he cant block shots and cant rebound without his brother, so i came to the conlusion to take ibaka nxt to him, we were terrible anyway at least wed have 2 young bigs to grow. and i was chastised, mob mentality. lol, then the Knicks nets gamethreads would come around and id be a target though i was respected on other parts of the board... thats how i became bitter on my beloved knicks

EDIT 2;also i think the knicks are just screwed, i see Deron + Brook to be the only threat to heat. unless drose can pull an adrian peterson, which, i like his chances, but not against the heat. or if paul george can start playing like george gervin, which appears to be within his aptitude, but not likely this year(idk how people have drawn negative conclusions about that kid, hes 22, high volume player, gordos low vol, triple threat, vacuum player, its that simple, massive upside). the knicks are good this year but no way will they win anything. LOL.
