Following potential 2013 draftees

How would you know that? I have heard a lot if interviews and never heard anything like that. The Jazz always play the organization works as a team card.

I looked all over for the link but I couldn't find it. It might have been in a Locke podcast that I heard that. Basically, KOC appraised CP3 as the better talent and didn't want to pass up on him but was overruled by Jerry and Larry because Jerry liked Williams' size and the fact that Williams played "under the basket" - both of which traits would make him less injury prone. Anyone know where to find the podcast or article I read many moons ago?

I first heard this through ESPN. Jerry Sloan thought Williams could run the Jazz's system and that his body would take the punishment better than Chris Paul.

I went back and pulled up some CP highlights from Wake Forest to try to assure myself that Burke is similar in terms of size and speed. Below is the CP footage, and I'll post the Burke footage. CP is craftier and more skilled than Burke, but the difference doesn't look as dramatic as I thought it would in these highlights. There's just something special about CP's ability to make big plays. It's that je ne sais qois that superstars have.

Anyway, here's CP....

Thanks Catchall - I'd hit you with rep but have to spread it around first.

I think the main difference I can see is really that CP3 is much lighter on his feet. He just seems a lot quicker and faster and very nimble and active too. Burke is muscly and bulky (which is something you need in the NBA today - I get that), but he needs to be quicker around the court and a bit more decisive too. As well as active.

Watching the 2 videos side by side, it seems like Burke is always going at 80% of CP3's speed....

McCollum just looks like a better player than Burke to me. I'm probably going to get negged for this.

Some of these CP and Burke highlights look almost identical to me. Chris Paul rarely seems to be moving at full speed though. It's like he's dancing and holding back a bit so that he can change direction on a dime. I think Burke can play just as fast, definitely NBA speed, but CP is craftier and more dynamic at that speed. Of course, this was out of college. CP has lost a lot of that quickness with his knee issues.

McCollum looks like a smooth, professional scorer at the NBA level. He's a bit old school like a Hersey Hawkins. He just looks like a pro.

He's not going to give you a steady hand at the PG spot though...

2.9 assists and 2.7 TO??

Wow..

EDIT: By comparison Curry's numbers in his last year at Davidson are 5.6 assists and 3.7 TO.

Yeah you're probably right about him not being your traditional point guard, but Burke just looks meh to me. I'd go with the best player and McCollum just looks like a better overall player to me. Plus in today's NBA it seems like scoring pg/combo guards are supplanting traditional pg's because there are like what? Five in the whole league?
