I would be scared to take Giannis with either Jazz first round pick.
He just so young and raw.
Greece has had some players drafted last few years.
Seems like all of them have been duds.
And African players have not done well either last few years.
Unless they are a top five type player I would stay away from international players in the mid first round.
Stick with American college players.
But I could be entirely wrong.

I've always hated this argument. Just because some players from a certain area haven't turned out, does not mean that you stop taking players from there.

If a guy shows talent, and you think that you can develop that talent, then you draft him. I don't care where he's from. I

Giannis would be a risky pick. But in a draft like this where there are hardly any sure-fire stars, it's okay to take a risk like that. Giannas has the potential to be very, very good, and in a draft like this, I take that risk every single time. Risks like that are why the Spurs are continually good.

Raul Lopez failed because he tore his knee up...while he was playing in the NBA. It had nothing to do with where he came from.

Anything can happen is a true statement though, as long as you realize that involves all prospects, not just the foreign ones. I've seen plenty of superb college athletes not make it in the NBA, doesn't mean that we shouldn't draft from college though.

And no, the Jazz do not need international players to come over right away. I'm not sure why you think that, but it's false.

I would love to add Wiggins to the Jazz. I can see Wiggins, Hayward, Favors and Kanter being a nice combination of players and you will still have Burks and the two picks from this year to build around. Pipe dram for sure but I still like to dream!
