Following potential 2013 draftees

Just had a wonderful idea...With Dallas drafting before the jazz and possibly looking for a PG, they will seriously take a look at Schoeder. he is german as is Nowitski might keep him happy but he also might be the better option for them.

Hopefully pushing McCollum to us

The reasoning is a stretch. I think they take CJ because he is far more NBA ready to help Dirk out in his last couple good years.

Yeah not sure if Dallas is already sick of a Beaubois type player...

Alright guys, who's ready for this Nike Hoops Summit?!?! I'm early but let's get the ball rollin' ...

Guys to watch out for obviously includes:

- Dennis Schroeder: German PG who has declared for the '13 draft

Chad Ford:
Schroeder has been the star of the World Team in practices this week in Portland. Blessed with elite quickness, speed and a huge Rajon Rondo-esque 6-foot-7 wingspan, he been able to penetrate at will and has shown great improvement in his court vision. He made a number of terrific passes and showed he could stop on a dime, elevate and hit jumpers.

"He's never really played with athletes," one NBA scout said. "You see him figuring it out and throwing lobs and finding guys. He didn't do that in Germany. I'm really impressed with how he looks when surrounded with talent."

If he can duplicate what we've seen in practices against Andrew Harrison, Team USA's lead guard and a projected top-5 pick in the 2014 NBA draft, Schroeder will catapult into the first round this year.

Note:
I don't know which practice he was watching - but the one I watched on YouTube he didn't look that great to me. He wasn't making the long shots. He didn't pass well. Dribbled out of control at times with a few TO's. Let's just watch the game and see if he can step up.

Others to watch out for include:

- Sergey Karasev: Russian SG

Skilled lefty with passing skills and can get to the basket. Shot 49% from 3's.

- Mouhammadou Jaiteh: French PF/C

Measured 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-4 wingspan. Good rebounder.

- '13 - '14 UK Boys

It goes without saying that they should dominate this game. But Wiggins is on the Int. team, so it'll be interesting.

Just saw one mock draft that has Utah taking Michael Carter-Williams at #14 and stashing Dario Saric from Croatia at #21 (both McCollum and Karasev were off the board before the Jazz' first pick).
Thoughts?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. At least to the MCW thing.

nbadraft.net's comments on our prospects

Sergey Karasev (6-7, Russia, 1993)

Easily the most consistent long distance shooter during the practices, Karasev is a smooth lefty combo wing with NBA aspirations. He is a decent athlete, though when guarded by Wiggins or Livio Jean-Charles he has been bothered by their length/athleticism. As far as skill level is concerned, his is quite high and he seems to have numerous ways to score and needs very little room to get his shot off. He has definitely impressed in this setting and he more than likely will keep his name in the draft as his feedback is sure to be positive. He plays like a seasoned pro and will be the main guy the USA will not want to leave open on Saturday.

Dennis Schroeder (6-2, Germany, 1993)

Sometimes the speed of Team USA at the PG spot can cause major match-up issues for the World Team in the Hoop Summit. With Schroeder running the point, that will probably not be a huge issue. He is very quick, can penetrate, and his length and speed makes him a really pesky on the ball defender. He has not shot the ball exceptionally well, and driving seems to be more his style. He will definitely need to gain more weight down the line, though his experience is apparent and he has been the best leader at the PG position in these early practices.

I know it's early, but this draft seems to have players all over the place. In past drafts there has been more consensus on the lottery picks or top-10.
