Following potential 2013 draftees

i wouldnt mind a goodwin wolters draft then use burks to get a PG we need

Wow... if that's all we get from this draft, I will literally, physically and forcefully burn this '13 draft thread down to the ground with my own 2 hands.

And the remaining "ashes" would be worth more in $ terms, or any other terms measurable by man, than a "goodwin & wolters draft".

Scary, bro.

I think Archie goes around 14-21 I wouldn't pick him at 14 but wouldn't hesitate to get him at 21. There are some interesting prospects in this draft and I think it will be better than most guess.

We have a new player to to talk about...

Haven't seen him discussed on here, and don't remember seeing him in any of the mocks. If he's old news just ignore. 7ft tall 220lb's, and very athletic, but also very raw with what seems to have little to no offensive game, but sounds intriguing none the less.

Anyone have any thoughts? Should he be considered?

Seen him play twice. I really enjoyed watching him and his upside certainly seems there. But he was getting shoved around by guys that would get shoved around, themselves, in the league.

He's a fun player and intriguing but not someone I would take until the second round.

No, I don't see a need in taking on a project big that is redundant to the ones we already have. If the big is some sort of stretch 4/5, then I don't really want him.

These are good points. I think Goodwin's percentages were better at the beginning of the year though. Later on, he tried to force things, and part of this was because Noel got injured, Poythress was still passive, and Harrow was inconsistent as a PG. Goodwin was asked to do more offensively and as a creator than he was really ready to do as an 18 year-old freshman. It's worth seeing where he is mentally. The physical talent is unmistakable with size, wing-span, quickness, handle, aggression, endless motor, instinct, etc. If he has the right attitude and work ethic the ceiling is just really high.

You look at other prospects in this draft, and most of them have a significant flaw. Burke is undersized. Noel has little offensive game, is a bit of a tweener PF/C, and got injured. Shabazz is a one-way player. Bennett is too heavy to drag his butt all over the court like an SF all night, but he's too small to be a go-to PF. Carter-Williams can't shoot and doesn't have much change of pace. Porter is well-rounded, but doesn't stand out with any go-to skill. So maybe he ends up like a more skilled Jeff Green. The bigs are good, but not dominant. Oladipo doesn't create. The one guy you can't complain much about is McLemore, but he needs to be more assertive. Archie just stands out to me as someone who could be a game-changer. He's a prototypical 2-guard for today's game.

Don't assume that Kentucky was a stellar program this past year. The whole team was a reset and they underachieved. It's not all on Archie.

Damn, Archie played good during the non-conference schedule against scrubs? Then he got worse when playing against SEC teams, which wasn't that good of a conference this year. Damn, that is interesting.

Archie will be a marginal NBA SG at best.

Watching Burke not being able to guard Wolters in the NCAAs leads me to believe he shouldn't really go #1.

Wolters shot 3/14 from the field? Am I forgetting something here? If he didn't actually guard him, it was probably for the purposes of keeping your best player, who you want on the court, fresh and out of foul trouble.
