Following potential 2013 draftees

I'd rather have Marshall. A guy who actually probably has more scoring instincts than MCW, and is a good deal more intelligent.

The draft isn't that weak at 14. It's weak in All-Star talent. I would say it's a fairly average draft.

I don't know how you can assess that Marshall is more intelligent than MCW. You don't lead college bball in assists by not having a vision to create for others. If you can do that, that's enough intelligence for me.

Also MCW is light years ahead of Marshall defensively. You play MCW with Hayward and Greek Freak/Burks, you can just switch everything on perimeter defense. Not to mention the steals you'll get from him.

Here's my prediction:

At 14, we take Olynyk, Schroeder or Goodwin (with an outside chance at KCP)

We sit back and watch who's there at 21. If there's someone we like at 17 or 18, we trade 21 and our 2nd pick to move up a few spots and call it a day.

Didnt say I was Hating him, just said I do not want him on the Jazz.

Well what makes the Jazz so unique that you wouldn't want him here?

- Do we need a PG? Check.
- Can we use a pass first PG feeding Favors & Kanter? Check.
- Has he shown leadership skills and a winner (something KoC always liked)? Check.
- Do we need better perimeter defense, especially on contested 3's? Check.
- Would MCW be BPA at #14 pick? Check.
- Are any of his shortcomings fixable? Check.

All of the PGs at our draft position have major question marks.

Dennis Schroeder maturity issues, and can he hit enough jumpers to be successful. McCollum isn't great at the pick n roll, and could be another 2 stuck in a Pg's body. Watch his DX video he makes a lot of errors running the team. MCW is flawed like the rest, but he has to be considered. If we choose one of these guys their success will rely on how well they can close the holes in their games.

All good points Hotttnickkk, I can see why he could be a good pick and a good player, I dont know why exactly I dont like him, I just have a gut feeling about him. Of course my gut feelings have been wrong in the past.

If I were you, my gut feelings would say "Adams" as well.. LOL

I would not hate McW. I would not cry if the jazz draft him. a couple things that stuck out for me on the video (which I post first 8-))

- he has a low shooting percentage because he takes bad shots. he takes them contested and early in the shot clock (this is fixable)

- his handle is good but not great. he over dribbles at times and gets the ball stolen (this is fixable)

- he makes some very bone headed passes. this is what worries me the most. bb iq is tough to teach. he has a great feel for the game but doesn't seem to read what is going on on the court.

- Ty Corbin is NOT the coach to teach him these things. that is my biggest concern.

I am, as cy would say, getting a shower Boner for karasev. I love the guys stroke. he is a good passer. he has a basketball pedigree. (father played and coached in Russia). I know we need a pg but imagine, burks handling the ball. getting it to Hayward, who initiates the offense. burks can get cutting passes from karasev and Hayward. if he gets stopped by the bigs stepping out I am confident he can drop it to kanter or favors or kick it to karasev.
