Following potential 2013 draftees

Chad Ford's mock draft 4.0 posted about 20 mins ago:

14. Jazz - Dennis Schroeder
The Jazz's biggest need is at the point, and it's increasingly likely the team will have to use this pick to draft a top-ranked point guard. Schroeder is interesting because of his speed and length. He's not as NBA-ready as some of the other point guards in the draft, but one of the Jazz's priorities is to get more athletic. Miami's Shane Larkin is another possibility here.

21. Jazz- Kelly Olynyk
Olynyk is another big projected as a potential late lottery pick who's struggling to find a home right now. I doubt he slides past the Jazz if they get a point guard at No. 14. With both Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap hitting free agency, Utah will need frontcourt help, and Olynyk's ability to both shoot the basketball and put it on the floor would give the Jazz's front line another wrinkle.

*Notable picks. Oladipo is at #2, who looks like the genius now? 'Bazz is at #16, not sure why the Jazz would pass on him at #14. KCP moved up all the way to #9. Lastly, Larkin is at #15 to the Bucks.

13. Dallas - Dario Saric
Given NBA rules, Dallas technically can't trade the pick until after the draft, but it can reach a deal in principle before it. Sources say the Mavs have been making calls gauging interest. However, the other option is taking Saric. Dallas can get him off the cap with an agreement from Saric that he won't come to the NBA this season. The Mavs actually love Saric, so it might work for both parties. And even if they trade the pick, Saric appears to be a hot name right now.

Chad Ford is more often a clown than a sage.

Yeah, and he hasn't improved with time. Here's a quote from his 1984 mock draft.

'After the jump, we'll cover some of the long-shot picks of this year's draft, such as Jordan, Barkley, and expected bust John Stockton from Gonzaga.'

I'm just not sure what to make of you.

You have got to be joking.

Did anyone watch the new scout video of Dennis?

Yes,

My impressions: I thought the video was well done and showed well his skills and what he needs to work on. As far as video goes it is always difficult to get complete understanding of how good the player is because in videos you can cherry-pick plays to make an average player look great but DX did a good job because they included his weaknesses. I thought he was great breaking down guys off the dribble, he can get most anywhere he wants on the court. I thought his passing and court vision were very good and his spot-up shooting was better than expected.

As far as his weaknesses, yes it looked as though he struggled getting to the rim but then on his strengths he penetrated to the basket and made layups as he pleased. I can see why he isn't a top 5 prospect due to his average shooting ability (short range. Once he gets in the weight room, I think his weak ball handling will be less of an issue as he gets stronger and more experienced.

I think all his perceived weaknesses are more due to lack of experience and strength training. I think he will be able to fix most of his minor weaknesses given time and hard work. They didn't show or mention any off court issues, all they said was his body language was bad but didn't show any examples.

One must remember the kid is 19 years old so some immaturity is expected besides he has been dealing with the death of his father. This may or may not make him grow up faster but I am sure it has been difficult for the kid. After watching this video and the Nike Hoop Summit, I would definitely consider taking him at 14. I think he has a lot of upside and is only going to get stronger and better as he matures.

In interviews it seems as though his work ethic and attitude are great. I am sure that it will take him sometime to be a starter considering all that he will have to handle in his rookie year (new team, culture, language, food, residence and the NBA) but I definitely think the kid can be very good if he works his butt off.

I am a little more excited about the possibilities of the Jazz selecting Schroeder but with this excitement comes competition for him. I would be disappointed if the Jazz passed on him considering that I think he is ranked where he should be ranked (12-18) pick.
