Following potential 2014 draftees

Last year that was his biggest flaw, his outside shooting. If that has truly improved he will be a good to great player in the NBA.

8-16 the last two games. Trend has been getting better as season progresses. Does any of our Euro posters know if his season is now over?

At least you picked a game against a terrible team that they beat by 34. Just saying.

Fine. This is a closer game against Louisville. Notice how most of what's on the highlights is Randle starting at the 3 point line and driving to score or looking to make plays. He has a decent handle, and he's just wayyyyy too big and strong and quick for the SF to handle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6sCTv0TGYw

- 0.05min: Randle iso on the 3pt line, dribble drive into the paint and SLAMS it

- 0.16min: Randle again up top, dribble around his defender, floater against shot blocker

- 0.43min: Randle again starting from the 3pt line, dribble penetration, rises up and banks it in off the glass

- 1.09min: Again, dribbles, gets into the lane, leaner over the shorter defender and in

- 1.36min: Randle receives the ball top of the key, spin move into the lane and hook shot over the defender

For the record, I like Randle. It's hard not to like a guy with his demeanor, fearlessness, and so on. I just wouldn't take him in the range the Jazz will be selecting. Doesn't have the upside.

Depends which position you're pegging him. As a PF I think he'll get dwarf by the bigs in the NBA. But as a SF I think he has tremendous upside and can potentially dominate if a team is willing to invest in his development.

Yeah spy set himself up for that one.

If you think all Randle can do is rebound and score in the post, I challenge you to watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqhuK___3PA#t=33

- 0.10min: Randle right elbow, drive, spun in the lane, passed out to a 3pt shooter

- 0.24min: Randle with 3pt shot top of the key

- 0.30min: Randle up top of the 3pt line, drive to the paint - kicked it out to 3pt shooter for an open corner 3pt

- 0.55min: Handling the ball top of the key, drove into the lane, basket and foul

- 1.05min: Inside scoring

- 1.40min: Randle top of the 3pt line, open 18 footer - good.

- 2.05min: Inside scoring

- 2.24min: Running the floor, receives pass and finish strong

- 2.45min: Again, handling the ball in open floor, quick pass to a shooter

And this is just off of a combined UK highlights of 1 random game. I simply don't have time to review a whole game, but hope you guys got the gist of it. Randle can handle the ball, can drive, can pass and make plays.

Or we can use his season totals…I think that's more indicative.

He shot 16% from 3 for the season, while rarely shooting them. If he could shoot them, he would either shoot more, or have a higher percentage.

He averaged 1.4 assists per game. Boy, he sure is some passer/creator. Might I also mention that he averaged 2.5 turnovers per game.

He averaged 0.5 steals per game, and 0.8 blocks per game. While steals and blocks never tell the whole story, the fact that he couldn't average more does say quite a bit about his defensive capabilities. All you have to do is look at how many times he's been dunked over (Russ Smith in particular). Besides, what makes you think he's going to suddenly become a much better defender at the NBA level than the college level? He had a hard enough time with Russ Smith of all people...

We're talking about a guy who has a short wingspan…which isn't always detrimental, but it sure as hell is when your main way of scoring is by using your strength. That's why I often use Tyler Hansbrough as a comparison. While I believe Randle is better, he's going to have the same problems that Hansbrough has had…and Hansbrough has a better jump shot!

If Randle improves his jumpshot, he could become a David Lee type. That's not somebody that I would draft top 10, personally.
