Following potential 2014 draftees

Every time I see a new video of Gordon, I want the Jazz to draft him. I love his energy and I think he is going to surprise people.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... sigh ... this draft is ripping my guts out.

I love embiid but I don't see a solution where he is drafted by us

wiggins just seems like the "it" pick but don't see him being in a jazz uni.

I would sell my right nut to get Parker. I just like the fit.

I am blah on exum. to hard to think of how he will be used.

Gordon gets me excited just thinking about the jazz being a defensive team

vonleh seems to have the measurements but we would lose kanter probably.

smart see gordon.

randle is just blah because kkk killed him for me.

mcbuckets just seems like a jazz man. love that guy

Payne is the perfect stretch 4 for the jazz

stauskas damn he is Canadian (I know wiggns is too) that can shoot lights out but what about burks does Hayward play the 3.

and the most frustrating thing of all ...

Just hire a coach already. so we know what direction the franchise is going.

So you would rather the Jazz rush a hire than due their background work? Smart.

honestly I think DL is just interviewing everybody so when he hires an off the wall coach he can say we interviewed everyone and he was the best candidate. I think DL already knows who he wants.

I want Messina personally. I like his coaching philosophies. (sp)

honestly though the jazz are drafting with out knowing what the coach is going to push or how he wants to,play the game.

Doesn't really matter. It's the coach's job to coach and the GM's job to put the team together. Granted, some coaches have had more of a say personnel-wise (like Sloan, Pops, Jackson, etc.). But the Jazz can use help EVERYWHERE! Give me any name and I can tell you how to get 20-25 mins for him (or more if needed).

From what Lindsey said, we're only using one pick. He said the scouts are really going to have to justify any player taken with the 23rd or 35th pick. Trade or draft & stash, IMO.

agreed but I still think you bring in players that fit a system. players that don't fit the system get wasted. it is very hard to fit a player into a system when they don't have the skills to play in it.

I think it is stupid to say that you are not going to use the #23 and #35 pick without knowing who will be there or if you could move up and steal a player that you want. I certainly don't think they should be throwing away assets for nothing.

He had the Jazz taking Randle at #5. (if Jabari deal falls through)

This guy knows his stuff.

"There are some that would suggest that sliding Derrick Favors over to the five spot and playing a frontcourt of Favors and Randle could yield bigger dividends..."

So I guess Marvin Williams was playing the 5 for us last season?

My concern about Messina is the old-school, drill sargeant reputation. The game is changing, players are changing - I'm not sure how receptive this generation of talent would be to someone like that. The younger guys with a reputation of being a player's coach are having a lot of success in today's NBA (Spoelstra, Scott Brooks, Vogel, etc.).

Popovich would be the exception, but that whole franchise is an exception. That's a vet-laden team with a lot of old school, tough guys. Even the young fella (Kawhi) is a bit of a throwback.

That's why I lean towards Quin Snyder at this point. He's won (he got ****ed Missouri after one of their best runs in school history), he's well-liked, and he's coached under the best.
