Following potential 2015 draftees

This is definitely the draft trade down in in my opinion. Pick up assets for a draft where it would help more to trade up. In the mean time develop our current talent. I know it's not the sexy move, but let's try to not be the Knicks or Kings

That will depend on who will fall to us at 12 though.

I'm sorry but I'm not trading Hood for anyone that's not a sure thing. Porz isn't a sure thing. No euro is.

I'm not trading Hood for anyone in this draft. Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood, Burks and Exum are all off the table. Everything else is in play. I'm okay with burning assets right now, because the team still has the opportunity to flip other pieces or take on some bad contracts to gain future assets down the road. DL is aggressive and likes to move pieces on draft day.

The Jazz have 17 picks over the next four years. They can afford to be aggressive. If some combination of #12, Burke, Booker and some future 1st round picks can land a guy like Porzingis or Hezonja. . . then I'm all for it. I've got over a dozen guys that would make me happy at 12. If the Jazz see a superstar in one of them, I'd love to see that guy spend the next 5+ years working with Snyder and Co. to reach that potential.

Anyone that wants to trade Hood for anything less than an existing or ascending superstar is ****ing high.

Nbadraft.net updated their draft. They wised up and have us taking Turner instead of Dekker. In the 2nd round they have us taking Joseph Young (still) and then Chasson Randle (solid scorer, gets to the line a lot, defensive underachiever).

I think you guys are getting desperate for a trade up. If we trade up we will trade up at draft night and we will trade up for a player not for the spot. That is - we will target a specific player, not simply to move up and pick one of a bunch of players. If the specific player we target is not there, we simply won't trade up... I personally would only trade up for Hezonja, Russell and possibly Porzingis and two of those are quite possibly out of reach for anything reasonable I would be willing to trade for them. I don't think it's worth it trading up from 12 to 8-9 for anybody else. Chances are several great players will fall to 12 and we will have our chance to pick whoever we like best. I don't want to trade up to 9 for Johnson when we can have Turner or Oubre or Portis or Kaminsky at 12. To me those players are very close on the board and whoever drops I'd be more than happy to get them. It's just not worth it.

That's where I'm at, although I'd even omit Hezonja and just make Russell and Porzingis as the only two trade up targets.

If we were trading for a player and not the spot, wouldn't that mean we would move up for the player no matter what spot he is picked, or am I misunderstanding?

I mean we won't trade up and then think who we should be getting at that spot. If we move we will move in order to pick a specific player. That's why I doubt any trade will happen before draft night...
