Following potential 2015 draftees

I can't help but think the Jazz are going to entertain a discussion with the Knicks about moving Favors for the #4 pick. If they think this Porzingis guy is going to be awesome, I think DL has the balls to make that deal.

It won't go away for me.

That article a few pages back said Porzingis hype is due to his agency creating a perfect environment for him to excell - and now everyone's gushing. But this guy talked about what he saw in Porzingis' euroball time and was not top 6 or 7 impressed. I can't remember it all but he listed a buncha guys he'd take before him (KAT, Okafor, Russell, Winslow, Hezonja...?)

I honestly don't know how I would feel about that. Favors gets the short end of the stick on here. Whenever there is a trade discussion for a big move its always Favors. Partly because he's a valuable asset, but it feels like partly because we underrate him. He is a 17 and 8 guy on a good contract and he's only 23, and most importantly he wants to be in Utah he likes it here.

I would do it for Russell, but I'm not buying the hype on Porzingis just yet.

Nah, the most important is playing and being good at basketball and being on a good contract.

I think the Jazz would entertain the same deal even if their target were Hezonja. They reportedly really like him too. Don't underestimate the significance of Gobert's emergence at the 5.

They would have to be totally sold on those guys, but they're both about 20 and would develop together with Gobert and Exum. Assuming those guys all pan out, you've really got something.

I'm sure the Jazz would offer Burks, Hood, 12, future picks, etc. and put off the idea of trading Derrick Favors, but if the Knicks are working out guys like Lyles, Kaminsky and now Looney, it's because the Knicks are targeting someone specific on the Heat, Pacers, Jazz, and/or Suns.

Where does it say the Jazz really like Hezonja?

I still like Grant, he has a nice shiftiness to his game and makes smart passes.

Walt Perrin said he'd been watching both those guys a lot when he was interviewed some months back. The Jazz feel their number 1 need is shooting, and he said he really liked both those players.

If you were the Knicks, what player on a team in that draft range would you rather have than Favors?

The candidates might be Bledsoe, George Hill, and ???

It would take #12 and Favors for #4, would you do that? The only other deal close to that value would be Bledsoe and #13. Hill and #11 isn't even close. That's about it, imo.

If I'm the Knicks, Favors alone is enough. Maybe a future pick and Calderon get mixed in.

Eric Bledsoe doesn't exactly scream 'triangle.'

This is such a great post.

IMO Grant will be one of those guys who sticks in this draft. I have a feeling about this kid. I don't know if 12 is too high for him but at the end of 8 years I'm guessing that Grant will still be a very productive player in the league over many other higher draft picks.

Hell no you don't do that. We already know Favor's floor and it is much higher than anyone in this draft outside of Towns, maybe. His ceiling still isn't established. Favors>>>>>>Bledsoe as well, because he is a rarer commodity on a better contract. We just now have some players getting ready to play pro ball, lets not swap them out and restart the treadmill. We have a chance at one of the best defensive front courts of all time, especially if we sit tight and add Turner or WCS (who I think drops) and we got it for relatively cheap for the next few years. You don't trade that for a "might be."
