Watching Towns next year would be like watching Exum this year. Really frustrating and hoping that his Sophomore year will be better.
I just don't see how Towns fits in when we have such glaring needs in the backcourt.
BPA
Portland missed on Jordan because they had Jim Paxson and had just drafted Clyde Drexler in the previous year... When you are drafting in the lottery always draft BPA!
That is of course if you think that Towns is the BPA. If it's a tie with some wing, I guess need would have to be included in the criteria...

Yeah, probably. There would obviously be flashes, though.
If we end up with the 5th pick and he's still on the board, I couldn't pass on that kind of upside.
Assuming Okafor, Russell, Mudiay, and Johnson are gone, I guess I wouldn't be mad. Think I might like the Porz kid more though.

I agree that the Jazz have to take a hard look at Porzingis vs. Towns. A 7-footer that can run the floor, score with either hand, nail 3s, and deliver sharp passes to the post would sure be nice to have. Porzingis can play PF out on the floor, whereas I'm not sure Towns really can.
The question I have about Towns is what he can do that Favors can't or won't do. They have very similar standing reach and motor. If Towns develops, he might be able to take over a game offensively better than Favors. But that's the question you have to ask yourself, I think.
