Following potential 2015 draftees

1. Who knows if they haven't actually.
2. This is their jobs and lives. They take this A LOT more seriously than ANY of us ever COULD. They're probably pouring over a quantity and quality of information that BOGGLES the mind.

Let's not get too specific with this example. I like Kaminsky at #12, but I'm afraid teams would simply go 'small ball' when Gobert/Kaminsky pairing is on the floor.
U do realize we'd also have an advantage on offense
So all another team has to do to get Kaminsky off the floor is go 'small ball' then?
no. It's called in game adjustments. All u do is take Booker out put in Frank and force their C to come out of his comfort zone to guard the perimeter opening up the inside for Hayward and Burks to drive. If the c sucks in to guard the driver then kick it out to frank for the open 3. Jazz did this a lot with Memo, who killed teams like this. There is just so much we can do with a guy like Frank
I feel just the opposite. If Booker isn't there then look at Frank.

I couldn't complain about either, but yeah, I'd probably lean Booker, too.

Bottom line, we should get a solid contributor at #12.
I'm down with Booker, but in my opinion there is a lot more risk taking Booker. Where does he get playing time? I don't really see him as an upgrade over our top three wings and don't forget QS also really likes Ingles who is great in the locker room and as a backup playmaker on the floor. What if Booker never develops?

Kaminsky on the other hand is a skilled big with more experience being a senior who can come in and play a role right away. And is a position of need. And brings a skill set we don't have. Where as Booker might end up wasting away on the bench ending up beng disgruntled due to not receiving the playing time he thinks he should be getting.

I do think Kaminsky has a better chance at succeeding in Utah. Though I won't complain if we take Booker.
New favorite candidate, Cameron Payne, though I don't see the Jazz picking a PG in the lottery for a third year in a row. Think we would ship Burke out?
I was thinking about this earlier, but if we do go pg.. I was thinking it would be best to trade down around 18-20 and take either Grant or Wright. Think they both go with the new model of defense plus we get maybe a future first, and I think they are as good maybe better then Payne. I know Wright can't shoot, but he is a bigger more athletic Rondo possibly making him a better defender who is a good passer. Think either would be a good backup and create great competition with Exum
Cant really fault that logic.. I mean if we are serious about making the playoffs next year we cant have a rookie PG as your back up. Unless he's a lottery pick of course
it's not like we are going to contend for a title. This does however gets said rookie pg great experience if and when the jazz do become contenders.

Screw trading down. This will likely be the last time for while that we are able to draft this high, and usually teams trade down when they need to add multiple players, which we really don't. Utah should be looking to consolidate assets to move up, but if the price is too high, take BPA and don't look back. Also, if we're taking on a rookie PG, it will be as a 3rd PG, not as a backup. We don't yet know if Exum will be ready for starter minutes, and our big 3 are ready to start winning now, even if we're not quite ready to contend. Burks played a bigger role off the bench than just a backup, and if anything, we should look to upgrade that role, not take a step back, which is likely with a rookie.

With regard to going small against Frank...

Frank is really good in the post and will be able to abuse smaller guys unless they are built like Draymond Green and can push him off the block. Post ups arent the most efficient offense in the NBA unless said post up player can pass out of the post... Frank can pass. I don't think you can put a small forward out there on the court like you could on Okur back in the day.

I'd actually be more worried that he can't hold his position in the NBA on defense... May get pushed back like Rudy does occasionally... of course Rudy usually blocks the shot anyway.

I think as long as Frank, Johnson or Booker are available I'd stay at 12... If it is Turner I think I'd try and trade back to 15-19 ish and collect another good first rounder (in 2017) for our troubles. That pick can be used in combo with some of our other picks to acquire a vet or in a sign and trade.

Just to clarify.. U r talking about Burke right? That inefficient small unathletic pg right? I am talking about adding either a Shawn Livingston type on the bench with an outside shot at being a stud like a young Rondo in Wright or a backup like Reggie Jackson type pg off the bench that provides a scoring punch in Grant. Anyway we need an upgrade at backup pg as I feel Burke is flawed and not conducive to a contender. And possibly getting a second first rounder in 2016 or a third first rounder in 2017 rounder will go a long way to help us get a nice player that will help us in the long run to getting into contention. And I'd only do this if I thought that we weren't going to get an impact player at 12. I do think Grant and Wright will have very productive long careers in the nba.

Why you down on Turner?

He is a good prospect and seems like a really good dude. Not sure he's a natural athlete... who the hell has to learn to run... seriously its a little weird. His stroke is really good and I think he'll be able to protect the rim, but I think laterally he'll be really bad... like really really bad. I don't think he's a good fit with Gobert, and I think he is a loooong term project. May take quite a while for him to get there.

I just think he'd have more value to us in a trade than to keep on the roster if that makes sense. I think Boston would likely be really interested and has a million first rounders... think we could move back to 15 (portis, Lyles, Looney will all likely be there) and get a better fit plus another asset to help us get more immediate help. I think Turner will have to play the 5 and I'm not sure he'd be ready for spot minutes next year.

He is intriguing because his stroke is really good... I'd be a bit scared to pass on him. Pelton says when you look at shooting in college you should focus on free throw shooting as it is a better predictor of a guy's 3 point percentage generally. He shot 84% and was killing the 3 early in the year.

Yeah, Burke sucks and I am on board with replacing him, but not with a rookie if we need our backup to play a significant role like Trey did last year. If Utah can trade for a later pick like they did with Rudy, then fine, but I don't want to trade down from the 12. Like I said, this is probably the last chance we'll have to draft that high for long time. Trade up, stay at twelve with BPA, or hell, even package it in a trade for vet. Just don't trade down from the 12. There will be a player there that's worth sticking.

Trade out or trade up. The Jazz are swimming in nickels, they need to get some dimes and quarters or just get rid of some change in some way.

It's not like we are playing for a chip over the next two years and we are just as likely to find good players in the 20's like hood and Gobert or millsap in the second round or going back even more AK B Rruss. Let's be real. We aren't getting a star with the twelfth pick
