Following potential 2015 draftees

Doug is a tweener but will find a role in the league because he's a shooter and is good enough at the other stuff.

Frank can play 4 and 5... He will struggle against small ball 4s who are quick and on switch outs in PnR. Many successful players have struggled with the same things.

I do think Frank is a little underrated... There have been many successful players that went to all 4 years of college. I can't think of a player at his size and skill set that was a bust. I also think we have to understand what a busy is for where we are drafting. If he becomes a good rotation player is that a bust? I really think that's his floor.

The other thing that Frank has shown is his work ethic. He's gotten bigger physically and better with work. This is a common characteristic if guys that are successful. I don't agree with the people who say he is a finished product. He will continue to get better... He's a worker.

With Kaminsky, the question is how well he can adapt to the speed and physicality of the NBA game. David Locke pointed out that Spencer Hawes was supposed to be an important acquisition for the Clippers, yet due to his defensive limitations, he never got on the floor. Kaminsky is probably a PF/C in the NBA, but he's not a great PF nor a great C. He's probably a back-up, imo. I think the Jazz will aim higher in this draft.

Also, the Jazz really need a player who can score the ball and make defenses adjust (warp) to cover them. Steph Curry just absolutely torched the Rockets yesterday. He single-handedly had them in disarray. Having a player who can break the opposing defense makes all the difference. So far, we don't quite have that player yet. Hayward is close. Rudy and Exum have that potential.

As I look at the top half of the draft, I see the following:

ALL STAR POTENTIAL (overall upside): Towns, Okafor, Mudiay, Russell, Hezonja, maybe Turner, maybe Oubre.

POTENTIAL TO SCORE 40 PTS (scoring potential): Okafor, Mudiay, Russell, Hezonja, maybe Booker, Turner or Oubre on a good day.

Looney and Porzingis are difficult to peg. I don't see Looney being a great scorer in the NBA, but maybe something like a just-past-his-prime Luol Deng. Porzingis could be like the ideal complementary stretch-big, similar to Toni Kukoc.

The Jazz have talent at every position and can treat this draft like they're playing with house money. I think they'll go for a young athlete with upside. It's most likely we'll come away with one of: Porzingis (trade up), Turner, Looney, Oubre, or Lyles (if they're sold on his upside).

I think the Jazz will readily part with Trey, 12 and a future pick to move up. Miami is a trade target, since they're in win-now mode. It's fine to "overpay" if they believe in the player they're getting.

If we want a player who can create offense why not sign Patty Mills?

Drafting another PG seems like such an awful waste of the #12. Especially when you consider that we only have 3 bigs on this team.

IMO, the pick must be Frank unless we have something guaranteed in free agency.

I think if the jazz move up hezonja is the target. I wish he had Been available for measurements because if he is 6-8 could you imagine hood, Hayward and hezonja on the floor at the same time in a small ball line up. exum at pg with Gobert holding the paint.

Great points.
