Following potential 2015 draftees

I will say if Looney has his medical conditions on point and all that, I might prefer him over Portis. It would be a pretty even tie.

Spears also reported Looney is working out for all but one team in the 8-15 range. Unless his hip or asthma are major problems, he's probably going in the lottery.

I think Winslow is a bit overrated, or at least his stock is at a high right now. He's a good athlete and defender, he's great in the open floor, he rebounds...but his scoring instincts are limited right now, he's actually not that explosive off the dribble and he's not that aggressive offensively. He could be more of a complementary player. I think Hezonja is the better player and Oubre could also pass him a couple years down the line.

@SHowardCooper: How fast is Cameron Payne moving up draft boards? Murray State PG has workouts scheduled for Lakers (2) and Knicks (4). Very interesting.

Unlikely, but him being there at 12 could give us some significant leverage to move up.

Those are trade-back scenarios. Not saying I'd do it, but Favors + 12 might get the Jazz up to the Knicks' pick.

I know you aren't suggesting it, but if we're going to move up it better be to atleast #2.

No way I give up Favors for anything less than Towns or Russell.

The Jazz should look at trading with Boston for both of their firsts this year.

Why? I'm all for hoarding assets, but I don't think they should trade back for two 1sts this year. Better to trade up. Jazz have assets. Quality vs quantity at this point IMO.

Don't know if this was mentioned before, but the first thing Locke asked Looney was whether he could always shoot like that - I came away with the impression that he shot very well in the workout. Tony Jones also made reference that he had heard Looney was better than Portis in the workout. If we target Looney, we should try and move down and fleece the Celtics while we're at it.
Exactly!

I agree with you but it's always good to have additional back up plans.

I'm not quite sold on us drafting Looney at all. Seeing some of you starting to think 'let's draft him' has got me a bit nervous. This asthma issue might turn into a problem if he plays at an high attitude place like SLC. The only way I'd consider him is if Turner, Kaminsky, Booker, Johnson, Oubre and Porzingis are all off the boards.
