Following potential 2015 draftees

How does Oubre compare with Stanley Johnson? Oubre has a couple more inches wingspan, same standing reach. About 40 lbs. lighter.

Who's quicker? I think I'd prefer Stanley. shrug.
Oubre is more skilled offensively. Right now Johnson is a one way player. He'll need to develop his offense and shot in the NBA. Oubre in my mind is the better player and could be a pretty good two way player. Johnson's game seems more suited to college where as Oubre's game is more suited for the NBA in my opinion.

IMO, Oubre has the better looking shot, but Johnson is a better overall player. I like Johnson's leadership and hustle shown and think that those are characteristics that he showed at Arizona too. I like both of them as long shooting guards between Hayward and Exum. Both guys have 2 way potential IMO. I am impressed by Oubre's defensive instincts and how he uses his wingspan to defect passes and get steals. If they're both on the board, I still take Stanley Johnson.
Not sure how u can say Johnson has a better overall game. Oubre isn't a better defender but he's still not bad. Oubre's offense seems light years ahead of Johnson.
Hope he's OK.. he needs to climb the board for us.

I want no part of Kaminsky or Decker at #12. One of those 2 almost surely would have been the pick 5 years ago, but I think DL does things differently and will look for a guy with the most potential. I think he believes the coaching staff will help them realize this potential and I'm with him. This will hopefully be the last time in the next decade or so the Jazz have a lottery pick, so I hope they go for broke with it, and not just be satisfied with a solid role player. They have 5 first round picks in the next 3 years to find that.

Some things can be taught and can be absorbed somewhat through coaching, team chemistry and culture. Other things are either in your DNA or it isn't. I am not sure if that Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant killer desire/drive for competitiveness can be ingrained in people. Either you have it or you don't in your DNA.

I don't know if Oubre has it. When I watched his game highlights, I didn't see that fire.

I agree. Kaminsky wants no part of the Jazz. The only teams his interested in working out for are Knicks, Kings, Pistons, Heat, Pacers and Suns. Which is fine with me, I hope he gets pick by one of those teams that's ahead of us, so that another good player that is better than him falls to us.

Myles Turner wins the interview contest.

One of the guys that worked out yesterday was Derrick Marks who was the Mountain West Conference MVP and I don't think the Jazz have to waste a draft pick on him. He is coming off meniscus surgery between the NCAA tournament and workout. He did drop 23 on Dayton with the bum knee. He is undersized for the 2 and I don't think possesses the skills for a 1 yet. Perhaps a year back in Boise would be beneficial for the lad.

There is something about the Kansas system that doesn't fit wings like Oubre or Wiggins. Same questions were brought up with Wiggins last year. And he answered those questions nicely this past year. If the Jazz workout is any indication of Oubre's desire those questions were answered. I don't think a college players desire can really be questioned till they get to the pros let alone a freshman who is still maturing and figuring things out.

Let's be honest, most of us view Kaminsky as the floor of what is possible for this draft. It is a good place to be in, but I think almost all of us would rather have someone else. If drafted, Kaminsky would probably get 8-10 minutes almost by default on the Jazz because there really isn't another option at backup center right now. If he blows up, he would more than likely be a valuable trade asset. I'm not sure working my way up to valuable trade asset would be a desirable goal if I were Kaminsky. The onus is on him to get drafted higher than #12. If he does so, he's happy and we are happy because another player will slip.

I would prefer Kaminsky to work out for us, because our FO doesn't care if he comes for a workout or not when picking. They've proven in the last several years that they will draft players that don't want to work out for the Jazz. So if he's there at 12 and we are on the clock, I prefer DL to have as much information about him as possible, and to know that whether he picks him or not - it was because they've decided so based on the best possible information they could have.
