This is true. If the draft was today I'd hope Oubre was there at 12.

The problem with that is Utah would have two guaranteed salaries from this draft. I guess there are a few guys who show some promise who would be good picks at #28. Jazz just don't need the depth; it's time to get quality over quantity.
 
I'd trade up for Mouhammadou Jaiteh as a backup center. If not the tail end of the first, then the early part of the second round. I think he's going to be really, really good.

I think we all pretty much assume thats how it would work. We don't know the guys they like, but I'm sure 1 or 2 that they do have a good chance at being available at 8-9, and they would be willing to move up for them. We are just speculating on guys we think are worth the risk. I want them to move up because I trust DL, and want him to have his choice of who he gets, not just settle for whats left over.

Say the top 8 are the guys the predicted, and at 9 there are 4 guys they wouldn't mind drafting (think Johnson, Oubre, Turner, Kaminsky). Should they stay pat at 12 and take the one left over, or should they move up and take the 1 they like the most? I want them to get the guy they think will be the best rather than take whats left over. The other option is a guy they really like, but think will be gone top 6-7 (Think Winslow, Porzingas, Hezonja) ends up at 9, they can then move up and get the guy that dropped. 2 very different scenarios, but both worth moving up for imo. I'm not sure who they are targeting, but I want them to get their guy, not just whoever is left over.

Notice how Booker has picture perfect form on his jumper, while Dekker and Oubre drift forward after jumping on there 3 point shots. A minor nuance that probably could be worked out over time.
 
If he drops to 8 it will be really hard for Detroit to pass on him since his agent is now in their front office and they have a need at SF...
 
I dont see Oubre sliding to 12. He is off the board by then, draft stock is going up and based on what he did in college and how much potential he has, GMs are going to have a hard time passing on him.
