Following potential 2015 draftees

LOL this debate about trading favors for the mythical number 4 pick is entertaining and enlightening at the same time. Jazz fan base is not very smart. Who trades a major piece of their team, a team that was making serious noise after ASB. A piece of their team who has done nothing but get better. A piece who is already on the cusp of top 10 t his position. and ohh is 23. LOL MY GOD!

What if it meant that Favors was dealt? Does that change your mind at all?

I was taking about favors being dealt when I said the jazz make the playoffs with millsap. So yes I think they still make the playoffs without favors.
I think I have more faith in DL and management, Snyder and our coaching staff, and Burks, Gobert, hood, Hayward, Booker, Exum, and trey than most other posters I guess.

Hell I think that even if we traded favors and didn't pick up any big time free agents that we could still make the playoffs.

Look at last year. The jazz are predicted to win like 26 games. Then we lose Burks for the year, have a cancer in kanter, have a bunch of D-league rookies (7 rookies total iirc), have the worst point guard rotation in the league and the rawest lottery pick the world has ever seen, have a rookie head coach, play a very tough schedule in the west, and are one of the youngest teams in the league. (If not the youngest of all)

We destroy the 26 win prediction, finish the year with the best defense in the league, look like a surefire playoff team and have alot of jazz fans talking 50 win season.

If we traded favors that would be a big chunk of adversity to overcome but look at ask the adversity we overcame last year.

I could see Burks, Gobert, hood, Exum, and trey all getting better. (Some of those guys might get ALOT better) I could see Booker and Hayward improving too. Snyder should improve as a coach. Porz would give us something even if he is not ready yet (Snyder is supposed to be great at development right?) We would not have 7 rookies next year and would probably pick up some decent vets (let's say a couple of Trevor ariza level talent players)

Maybe since favors is gone tomic sees an opportunity to start and he comes over.

I think we can make the playoffs without favors.

Having said that, I want no trades to take place and I want to let the cake bake.

Also, favors is only behind Burks and Rudy as my favorite players in the nba. I love favors and think he will be an all star. But I have lots of faith in the non-favors parts of the current jazz franchise as well and think we would still be competitive without him.

Who is saying that the jazz SHOULD trade favors for #4?

I don't think anyone has said that.

Couldn't agree more.

It's blasphemy that it's even being discussed.

And people want to do it to draft Porzingis. The dude with highest bust potential in the entire top 10

What a ****ing joke. Seriously.

Let's see..

Trade Favors who was a number 3 pick, who was the main prize in the Deon Williams trade, who has all the measurables, is very atheltic, can shoot, can play defense , who showed last year to be an Allstar candidate, who has put in the work, who took us this long to develop, who is ready to tear up the the league..... for some skinny ***, high bust potential, young unknown kid.

Give me a ****ing break. Hell to the NO. Good thing DL would never do anything that stupid. That would be the most idiotic trade I have ever seen.

Well, just in your previous post you are talking about Porzingis if we trade Favors... so... what are you trading Favors for then?

And further more, trading Favors would probably mean Hayward would say......see ya, I don't want to be part of this mess.

Keeping the big 3 together is what keeps the big 3 together.

Say it over and over, until you aren't stupid anymore.

Vids from sept 2012, he's a SG/SF. Montero looks very draftable after all those internationals withdrew. NBADarft has this kid going in the early 40's.

Ya know when you see some 6'8" wing player that needs to work on his handle, this dude is nothing like that... He reminds me of Julius Hodge

This post is full of so much wishful thinking...

Tomic? Really?
What's the guarantee you will get Millsap? If I were him I'm choosing 60 wins team in the east 10 out of 10 times before I choose a rebuilding team in the west that just sent away one of its 3 best players for a 19 year old project.

I don't think we are a sure thing to make the playoffs with Favors, let alone without him.

Just catching up. Here's a quick summary---

1) The Knicks need quality bigs.
2) The Knicks lost out in the lottery.
3) They now want to leverage their #4 pick in a trade to acquire a quality big.
4) It would have to be a deal worth passing on Mudiay, Porzingis, WCS and Hezonja for. They say they want a "young veteran" and a late lottery pick.
5) They're working out players in our draft range with the presumption that they have a potential deal to trade back. It clould be Indiana. It could be Phoenix. It could be us. It could just be Denver.
6) Favors may or may not be a player they're targeting. If I were the Knicks I would pursue Favors.
7) The Jazz like Porzingis and Hezonja, but obviously they would be reluctant to give up Favors.
8) Spence Checketts, whose brother Dave Checketts used to work for the Knicks and now works for a sports consulting company with Madison Square Garden as a client, opens his mouth about the Jazz possibly pursuing Paul Millsap in free agency, which makes almost no sense with Favors here.

So I concluded that some conversation is likely taking place btw the Knicks and Jazz. Not saying it will happen or that it should. It depends on what DL and QS want going forward. I have no idea what that is. Teams talk all the time anyway.
