Following potential 2015 draftees

Name all the current NBA 4s that play bully ball.
Not gonna name them all but just a few off the top of my head without looking anything up who can play bully ball would be.
David west, zack randolph, blake griffin, lamarcus aldridge, derrick favors, anthony davis, paul millsap, serge ibaka, julius randle, kevin love, greg monroe, nene, faried, pau

Now not all of those guys play bully ball alot but every one of them COULD push porzingas around down low if they choose to

It's really REALLY impressive that Hezonja has kept his minutes and is now even starting for Barcelona after they got all their injured players back. He's made some serious strides with his play this season.

Porzingis has a ton of potential but his body frame bothers me. The more I see him play the more worried I am that he simply doesn't have a position he can guard in the NBA. He's not fast enough to guard 3s and he's not strong enough to guard 4s and I am really skeptical that any of those can change. Even though, he's been having some good games lately, his stock with me has gone down in the last month.

Dirk was also a skinny white kid once upon a time too though? I'm not a doctor/physiologist so I wouldn't know but most bigs fill out their frames don't they?

Remember, Gobert was really really skinny last year and he really became much stronger/bulkier this year.

Not sure if this was posted yet, but it gives a good look at Booker's game.

My only concern with Booker is physically he looks to me more like a JJ Redick than a Klay Thompson (even if you project him 3-4 years later).

Do we want a JJ Redick with our #8 pick?

With the #6 - #14 range, isn't that the range where we "shoot for the stars" so to speak? Swing for the fence and grab someone who could potentially be GREAT like Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George?

I'd take JJ w/ the 8th pick. Last time I checked he has been a starter on good playoff teams.

Of course you hope for a superstar with every pick but that doesn't mean much.
We swung for the fences with the exum pick and kanter pick. Took the safer route with the Hayward pick.

Hayward appears > exum or kanter

This.
I would take a jj reddick caliber player at 8 too

Physically, Booker is more comparable to Thompson than to Redick. Redick amazingly enough had a wingspan smaller than his height. You don't see too many guards stay in the NBA with measurables like that. Thompson had a slightly larger wingspan, but still only about 2" greater than his height.

Booker is fairly stocky for his size and age, while Thompson is more sinewy. Have to remember Booker is still pretty dang young, it's not expected for him to be a great physical speciman yet, nor does his game style require him to be.

He's a great shooter. Appears to really struggle creating his own shot. Does ok on defense. Can't get around screens very well, needs to get stronger. Occasionally gets lost on defense, but he's a freshman, that's expected.

As for whether I would want a player like JJ where we're picking...yes, you swing for the stars, but if you get a guy that can average ~14-15 ppg, shoot the ball extremely well, move the ball around, play smart, effective defense...then you're going to be just fine as a team. Guys like Oubre, Porz, etc might have more potential, but they are also a lot more likely to be out of the league in 5 years.

In fact, lets look at who got drafted before Redick: Bargnani, LMA, Adam Morrison, Tyrus Thomas, Shelden Williams, Brandon Roy, Randy Foye, Rudy Gay, Patrick O'Bryant, Mouhame Sene.

Maybe Orlando should have taken the younger, more athletic, better defending higher potential player in Ronnie Brewer? Or Thabo Sefaloshalsoh?

Every player is going to be a gamble, except for your elite players like LeBron/Durant.

Klay Thompson wasn't somebody people thought could be great when they drafted him. Neither was Leonard. Neither was Hayward. Again, every player is a gamble, some work out, some don't.
