Following potential 2017 draftees...

I'd be curious where everyone stands with Lyles vs. Bolomboy. I'd honestly rather move Lyles to even let Bolomboy be the primary 4 backup. Would rather he gets consistent rotation minutes than yo-yo with Lyles.

I thought Lyles looked pretty checked out the last few months of the season. I remember seeing him regularly laughing and giggling on the bench during games. He just didn't seem to take things seriously nor care that he was a lotto pick contributing absolutely zero for a team sorely in need to contributions from the 4.

When 40 year old 500 lbs Boris Diaw plays in front of you and it doesn't light a fire, what will?

I'd like to see dead wood like Burks and Lyles traded. I don't care what we get in return. But it seems like all parties would be best served with trades.

Lyles especially. His demeanor was worse than Kanter's or Exum's. Kanter had terrible body languages but still managed to play hard (albeit it was selfishly). Exum up until the last game of the playoffs seemed to lack confidence. But Lyles just flat out doesn't seem to care. It wouldn't surprise me if he were busted for weed this offseason.

Jordan bell. He's that. I'd take him at 30. He's that tough energy guy Tristan Thompson/Young Millsap/Mini DeAndre Jordan who could come in off the bench, ignite the crowd with a few facials, offensive boards, and blocks.

I agree with this also. I think he has potential to start next to gobert also

I think a lot of people are hesitant to give up on Lyles and his potential for potential. I'd actually like to use him as sweetener for someone to take Burks. Make us a bit more lean.

Would love a Burks/Lyles for Faried deal.

It's not even about Bolomboy. DL picked Lyles over Booker because he wanted a stretch 4 and he though shooters like Booker are available every year while stretch 4 like Lyles (who shot 13% from college 3's) "don't grow on trees". Then look at this year's Leaf, Kuzma, Lydon, Wilson, Collins, Ojeleye, Rabb, Bolden... All legitimate stretch 4 prospects, better shooters, and available well outside of the lottery. Can't believe we just burned a lottery pick on a guy who's so easily replaceable.

I know people in todays nba are looking for bigs that can stretch that floor that said I would be disappointed if the jazz drafted Lydon.

besides being a good shooter, he seems bad everywhere else. so he's going to have become a elite shooter, if he isn't what can he really provide at the next level.

I could see him being Ryan Anderson.

But you're right, I wouldn't expect much defense or rebounding out of him. Syracuse doesn't team man to man defense since they play so much 2-3 zone.

Lyles doesn't really do anything at an elite level. You gotta at least be good at something to play in the NBA

Fine with me.

I'd just love to clear some of this dead wood.

I'd also look to shop Hood around.

Hood + 24 to get us someone like Fox would be awesome. I get that it would probably cost more to get that deal done. But I'm not sold on Hood yet. And I'd like to see us try to break into the lottery to bring us some serious athleticism and/or shooting. Hayward needs someone else who can consistently score.

Too bad McCollum is with porty or Booker is with Phx. Both would be perfect at the 2 alongside Hayward.

Bell has that intangible factor. I think the worst case scenario is he becomes Tristan thompson. A great energy/rebounder/defender who could come off our bench. At best? He could develop a perimeter game and carve out an ice career like millsap. People forget, millsap was strictly an energy player when he came out. His perimeter skills were pretty limited his rookie year. He developed into the stretch 4 that he is today.

To me, Bell has that "fire" that could potentially carry him places.

I would love to take him at 30. 24 is probably still a little early to roll the dice on him though...

I am with the thriller in that we need to draft people with good motors. I too like Bell and ojeleye for those reasons
