Well, we can't get in on the fun with Denver until after the 1st. Otherwise we could have taken Millsap for Burks and do a pick swap with them. That would have been fun...again.
PER is an efficiency rating. As indicated by "E" and "R".
They play better defensively when he doesn't play though. They also score better when he doesn't play (-6.2 per 100 possessions). That is whats its name is. I would not say that is what it does. It does not factor in defense at all. "What PER can do, however, is summarize a player's statistical accomplishments in a single number." This is the description Hollinger himself gives. It is simply adding all the box scores numbers together and adjusting for per minute and pace.
And in the case of a player like Oubre a terrible stat to go off to evalute him, since he is a defensive specialist.

That might be the case, but if you wanna be the board stat guru, you should probably know what they actually mean and know the figures of the guy you're pimping before doubling down? I think when a player has bad PER AND bad splits that that's a pretty good representation the vast majority of the time.In the playoffs this year or for the regular season? He greatly improved across the season and his role grew. He especially played much better when Wall was out and he had a chance to do more.
Think Washington goes for:
-Burks, #21 (and Joe Johnson TPE)
-Gortat, Satoransky, #15
?
Not bad. Moves the Jazz up a tier in terms of talent. Guess it depends on if the player Lindsey really likes is there at #15.Ehh... They need a center. I guess throw in Udoh for Meeks as well?
I am definitely not the stats guru on this board. I do like to post stats though and look at them. I am not sure what you are referencing with knowing what they mean, if it is about PER I feel okay about that one and my description. That might be the case, but if you wanna be the board stat guru, you should probably know what they actually mean and know the figures of the guy you're pimping before doubling down?
It's worth noting that I think going after Wiggins is worth considering despite that his advanced figures are bad.
I'm not sure there's a ton of separation in the prospects projected to go at 15 and 21. I honestly don't see a ton of separation between 15 going into the 2nd round. But yeah, if the Jazz see a guy that slips a bit and don't see him slipping further (Miles Bridges?)?Not bad. Moves the Jazz up a tier in terms of talent. Okay, but you are literally wrong about PER though. It is based on per-minute performance.I am definitely not the stats guru on this board. I do like to post stats though and look at them. There are some great stats for the guy I like, that is one of the reasons I like him. I posted one of them but there are more.
Hence this is what I typed about it:Okay, but you are literally wrong about PER though. It is based on per-minute performance.
