Following Potential 2018 Draftees

When I see him I think he could become Khris Middleton... shot has to come a long way. I’d be okay with drafting him because I think his size gives some upside... not my first choice. I like that he’s a good passer too... there are some things that you can’t teach... court vision and passing is a great sign of good BBIQ

Khris Middleton is not a good comparison point for Troy Brown, Middleton was a lights out shooter at texas a&m

Oh... my bad... I thought he shot 32% from 3 over his 3 year college career...

They may not be comparable, but as shooters they were.

More detail (incl. video) than I've seen elsewhere on Rodions Kurucs: https://www.peachtreehoops.com/2018...-rodions-kurucs-atlanta-hawks-latvia-European

Anyone old enough to comment on Kiki Vandeweghe as something of a playing style comparison for him?

Kiki Vadeweghe was a 6'8" small forward for Denver who could do a bit of everything -- handle, drive, shoot jumpers, rebound a bit. He might have been the 1980s version of Danilo Gallinari.

This might be recent footage, but it looks like he's playing against kids.

If the Jazz just want a guy who can space the floor and get buckets, Jerome Robinson might be the guy. He might be the closest thing to Jamal Murray in the draft, imo. I'd be okay with him being our pick at #21. I think he's at least 6'6".

BYU has a 4 star player who just got off his mission who's rumored to be the most athletic basketball player BYU has ever had. He's 6'9", can shoot, jump out of the gym and his named Gavin Baxter.

Him and Jimmer can lace them up in China in a few years.

Looks like the kid plays with some fire too which I like. Jerome Robinson looks like the type of player the Jazz would love.

We'll have some nice choices at #21 for sure. If we can get someone who has high IQ, plays with passion, and is a good scorer we'll have a successful draft.

well I really hope Jazz draft Knox becausenthey are only staff who can coach players up to their potential.rolls eyes. Love how y'all given them so much credit but no blame for players like T.B and TLyles?

I’m not a Jazz fan. I just like good basketball. No organisation maximises every players potential but the Jazz have an opportunity to scout some talented players & potentially add to what they have. Mitchell & Gobert were taken #13 & #27. Imagine what they can do in this draft.

Also TB & Lyles are essentially the same players the Jazz drafted. They’re just experiencing success in different systems.

Knox’s stock will increase as this draft has a much higher floor than other drafts. Knox’s measurements are 6’9 with a 7’ wingspan. He’s also one of the youngest players available (meaning time to develop is on his side)

The Jazz need scorers and floor spacers. Knox might not be the best at either now but he has the potential to be better than the other players in the Jazz’s range. Personally I don’t think the Jazz will draft him.

Keita Bates Diop - He’s probably my favourite player as he mixes production & versatility but I don’t know how much more he can develop

Hutchinson - Passes almost every test. Not sure how he’ll look once he’s developed but the majority of the league could do with a player like him.

Kurucs - Older, more developed Knox with post moves - reminds me a little of Hezonja. In all honesty there’s a long list of 6’8 plus European prospects who are hyped but their talent never translates. I hope he can change this. He does a lot well

Musa - Bonafide scorer in Europe but not much else, NO defence & he struggles with contact on offense & defence. I’d be surprised if he was drafted before #21. Character wise he’s a Utah player

Troy Brown - reminds me of AB. I like both, I know Burks lacks focus at times.

Jaylen McDaniels - Passes the eye test but needs to add weight & consistency. To me unless he convinces in work outs, you can’t risk taking him in the first round. As better prospects are available in an abundance

My take, but a lot can change in a month. The Jazz have a lot to consider. They can draft a combo guard a three and D type. A three point specialist, a scorer or a stretch four.
