Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I might have Fleming as high as 8. Kind of funny considering he's kind of the same prospect as Hendricks, but he has better physical gifts over Hendricks that make me a lot more excited.

This draft is just such garbage after the top 4 (Flagg/Bailey/Kasparas/Harper). I will probably have Demin 5th just based off potential. I might talk myself into VJ at 6 by the end of the year because the draft is just that bad and he is an elite athlete with a motor.

I think Fleming is going to be a late lottery lock for teams if this shooting even holds close. A guy that big, that athletic, shooting near 60/40+ with decent volume is just too good to pass on considering he's a young junior. It's basically like adding 20lbs of muscle to Taylor Hendricks and I think he has better straight line driver upside.

Yeah, I have no idea. I hope the guys I like turn in to good shooters, and don't dismiss the idea that prospects, especially young ones, can get better at shooting.

One thing I have stuck in my head is that guys with good touch can be good shooters even if their form isn't great. I was listening to a podcast awhile back and they were talking about Mikal Bridges shooting and saying they weren't worried because he had good touch and would make whatever shooting motion work for him. I'm not 100% sure what "touch" is, but I kind of get it and it seems to make a little sense to me.

Players definitely get better at shooting, just no clue if form is an indicator or even how that works directionally. Whether a player has good or bad form, his form is used as a reason as to why he is better/will get better. I think both arguments have some logic to them and I think both had led to some successes.....but I do feel as though it's something that we just apply to guys we already like rather than a true indicator that been proven over time.

Huge risk to take guys that dont shoot well in college. Some make it work but plenty of examples of players who simply cant learn to shoot at an NBA level. I would never use a lottery pick for a guard who isn't shooting well in college. Go ahead and take a risk at the back half or round one but never in the lottery.

They have to be an elite athlete or just have very good shooting indicators like FT%.

I think this draft is worse than last year's draft after the top 4.

Ace will probably be drafted 3rd, but there are only 3 guys I’d be super excited about. Flagg, Harper, and Kas are all better than a typical year at their respective spots…after that I’m not really sure how to rank guys. It’s not great.

I'm willing to believe in Tre Johnson as a plus-scorer and give some benefit of the doubt to Jeremiah Fears. Measurements and final shooting percentages are going to matter for Fears. I'm struggling outside the top 6 though. I think the draft goes pretty flat in a hurrry. Someone like Essengue could go anywhere from like 8 to 18. Same with Queen, Maluach, Newell and some others. Edgecombe likely goes 7-9. Probably Ian Jackson and Liam McNeeley are late lottery.

Idk if it's even flat though. It's just bad.

Not an Ian Jackson guy ATM, but he's another one of these guys that should be lottery just based off talent alone given how poor the draft is. Because I'm fairly certain he can score at the NBA level and Im not sure I can say that about 10 players in this class.

He’s struggling but the shots are on line and the mechanics are clean. I can’t really figure out how he’s gone so cold. He’s still a guy I take in the lotto. Great passer. Teams blitz him off the picks now and he’s figuring it out from time to time. Had a couple nice lefty finishes today. He did blow a dunk when he took off too far.

I’d love to see his potential assist numbers. I know everyone has ones where the player muffs the shot but he had a couple that hit guys hands and they just blow it. Setup the big for a nice contested chip shot at the rim when it was tied and he left it short.
The announcers were so dumb when they criticized him on the dunk attempt. He had a wide open path to the rim for a dunk and they criticize him for not passing out to the open 3 point shooter. i get that open threes are great shots but a dunk is still way better.
