Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Kon being white doesn't really matter, it's just that he's unathletic that matters?
Correct.... but when someone lists it as a qualifier to go find a comp... I think I know all I need to know about how that convo will go.

Its not my comp. I used it cuz it was thrown my way. Husky Horny or some version of Bane/Booker/Klay on the high end outcomes is where I'd guess.

There are no perfect comps but if you want slightly lesser versions of the players you think guys are (especially if we are doing the false ceiling thing) you will find guys drafted in the late/mid first that work.

I think his scoring has a better chance to scale up than his pick and role scoring. Part of that increased scoring would be in PnR of course, but Jerome was like a top 15 PnR guy in the league last year. I know how his season ended, but that man deserves some respect!

Maybe Kon a little too short, but I do like his power game inside against switches. Kind of like theoretical Keegan Murray who wasn't sentenced to become a 3&D. I'm not really the one to stress about measurables, but I think he compares well to some guys who are a bit bigger/longer than him.

I think he will find ways within routine actions to scale up a bit. I think he will always be a secondary or tertiary ball handler... its just weird the comps some throw out that lead me to believe they simply looked at the cover of the book. A Corey Kispert that can dribble and pass is no longer Corey Kispert.

I've always said that VJ's final form in the NBA is a combo guard with legit star potential.

No reason why he can't play the point. Not every "PG" has to be cut from the exact same cloth. The time of "floor generals" is over anyway.
Who pairs better with Walker and Collier? I see them both as part of our long term plans. Assuming Collier doesn't learn to shoot, then we need a shooter next to him.

Tre? VJ? Ace? Harper?

VJ is more of a 2 way player who can compliment a primary ball handler.

Tre spreads the floor better.

Ace can do both.

Harper may be redundant but gives us 2 ball handlers next to each other.

I saw Mike Miller working out some players recently and thought…man Mike Miller would have been so good in today’s game. Coaches didn’t even know how good or valuable he could be back then. Kon could be like him…but unfortunately there’s not a white guy that plays like that atm.

If Collier can't shoot, then I don't know how both he and Kessler are in the long term plans together.

Why would they do that, though? The motive isn’t obvious.
I think its obvious. I think Charlotte could have big interest there. So you telegraph your own interest and make them pay to move up and get him. Get your guy... pay the guy slightly less... pick up an asset.

They will end up having interest in all the big names in an effort to drum up trade up interest.

This would also depend on the needs of the team. Jazz gotta swing harder than a Philly, New Orleans, or possibly even Charlotte.

If the Jazz pulled off the 3rd AND 5th picks, I would be very open to getting Kon at 5.
ummmm... sure.
