Following Potential 2025 Draftees

If I was the Lakers Yanic would definitely be someone I would target as a cheap pickup option to help Luka.

Watch Edgecombe play defense in comparison with Tre Johnson. That is why he is mocked higher. It is also why his floor is much higher than you think it is. Edgecomb isn't just an adequate defender for his position, he's a plus defender at 3 positions.
Fair point. Maybe I'll watch him again and reassess... i just wasnt thrilled the 1st couple games i watched him

Has anyone posted a list of athletic/measurements from the G-League combine? It's really annoying how it isnt streamed this year.

So I took a look at the top prospects with and without the next best player (or the one who effect their offensive role the most). The idea is to look at a prospect when they aren't playing with the guy who is changing their role the most. Take this with a grain of salt because the sample sizes are small.

Flagg w/o Kon: Pretty much the same across the board. More usage+ast% as expected. Efficiency about the same

Kon w/o Flagg: Usage up a bit, efficiency way down but still high. AST% goes up significantly.

Harper w/o Ace: Very similar.

Ace w/o Harper: Usage skyrockets, efficiency is lower, but not a major drop off. AST% even lower.

Edgecombe w/o Wright: Usage way up, efficiency is down sizably, AST% significantly rises.

Tre w/o Kaluma: Usage up a bit, efficiency similar (but more FT's), AST% rises slightly.

Fears w/o Moore: Usage is slightly up, efficiency increases a decent amount, AST% is unchanged.

Kas w/o Boswell: Usage slightly up, efficiency increases a TON, AST% increases significantly.

He was 6' his junior year at HS. 6'5 senior year to w/e he is now

Listed at 6'8 now....I'm not one to eagerly await a player's measurements, but he's definitely bigger now and that could explain how he's gotten so much better during his college career and is developing faster than his peers. He's not Thompson Twin level on the list of best athletes, but he's up there.

It's nice to see you do this. Over the years, I've gone deeper and deeper with my prospect evaluations, and this is always one of the things I look at. Context matters (role, minutes, teammates, etc).

If anyone wanted to watch with me, Thiero's defense film starts at around 52 minutes on this video. My initial impressions:

- Wow this guy is super athletic. Explosive leaper and covers up so much ground. Defensive mistakes turn into highlights because he's so explosive
- Lot of possessions where he's matched up against opposing PG's. He's a great athlete, but not as laterally quick as someone like Jaden McDaniels. He can get beat off the dribble by the quickest guys.
- When it's not a super quick guard, he seems to stay in front well and he's built like a house. Can't overpower him.
- Seems to be involved in a lot of miscommunications....but you probably aren't finding clips of the switches that don't get messed up, only the switches that goes wrong
- Does gamble a bit
- Great defensive hands

He reminds me of DJJ. I think he's a little less quick, and nobody is quite as explosive as DJJ, but he probably has a lot more strength and has more size at the same age. Think he will be excellent guarding bigger wings and will probably have a better time matching up to physical forward types like Randle than matching up with quick PG's.
