Im not saying he's Rudy Gobert or any other number of rim protecting specialist, but he's a legitimate rim protecting threat who has potential to switch 1-5, guard 3 primary positions, and a much better defensive prospect than Naz Reid. I just get annoyed when people say incredibly stupid things.

I'm pretty sure you told me that a prospect needs to have a 8% or higher BLK% to be able to be considered a rim protector in the NBA. Fleming had a 4.9% BLK% last year.

I swear I'm not calling you out, but it would be nice to get more clarity on what you are referring to here and where you came up with that 8% number.

My only point is that small strong guards can get away with guarding bigger players in the NBA.

No you used one time schemed defense as an example of "how smaller guys and guard bigger guys".

Do you think Caruso could do it again now that the tape is out there? You think Nuggets would find ways to exploit that when they are better prepared for it?

However you answer, what is a fact is that a schemed defense involving multiple players is not the same as "X guarded Y".

Yes, to be a legit rim protector (like the Kesslers/Livelys/Goberts/etc) I require a high %. Fleming is more of a hybrid weakside protector who has enough size to also be a primary when needed.

Fleming also had a 6.8% block rate last year, so he is close to the 8% figure. Career 5.6

I'd probably have Martin a little bit lower than Sion James. Wish he was just a bit better as a shooter/steals guy. But he is a +3 indicator guy.

Of course they can. We have seen a lot of guys guard Lauri pretty well despite giving up 3-4 inches on him. Which is a better example of the case in point.

Yet we do have to maintain the general assumption that height disadvantage hurts a player defensively (assuming said player doesnt have exceptional length).

Is Alijah Martin considered a better prospect than Will Richard? I'm assuming so because one got a combine invite and the other did not, but Richard stood out to me more when I watched Florida.

A NBA scout from a lottery team told Rafael Barlowe that Jeremiah Fears is hot right now.

The scout said "I honestly think his draft range is anywhere from 2 through 5. I don’t know if he is going to be around at 7 for the Pelicans."

They continued to say they know New Orleans likes him and so does Brooklyn.

"Pelicans and Nets are the two teams I could see really trying to trade up into the top five."

I like Sion better on paper (taller/better shooting %), but I like Alijah better on film.
